11th gen higher power mobile chips (up to 8 core, 45w 10nm tiger lake H) don't exist yet but they are coming in 2021 and should bring many of the tiger lake u (28w like in xps 13) benefits to higher power machines. Perhaps Apple will do a minor refresh of the 16" MBP with 10th gen this fall despite it being very similar to the current 9th gen chips (14nm, 8 core)? Edited due to mistake earlier

Hello MaxTech, Now, I have seen a video of Dell xps 13 9300 (10th Gen) wherein it has a lot of issues like: 1.) Sleep mode NOT working infact the Dell xps 13 9300 gets heated up like a fryer inside the backpack even in sleep mode (refuses to sleep i guess). 2.) Then there is the Windows Hello Face and/or Windows Hello Fingerprint unlock refusing to detect/work while waking it from sleep (a restart is required to solve this problem). 3.) The battery drain issue as well on the xps 13 9300 model eating/ draining battery even in sleep mode. With all these issues for such a premium laptop brand like Dell, I wud go for the M1 Macbook Air 13" (my current is also a early 2k14 MBA 13") running on Catalina. I'm getting the Macbook Pro because, with it, they fix the small details I often see left out in the other Windows laptops I checked out (Dell XPS and Microsoft Surface Laptop 3) which are the lid opening cutout (I could open the Macbook Pro with one finger, whereas when I couldn't even grip the front of the Surface Laptop 3 with my thumb to open it - I had to use two hands) and the touchpad was a bit better on the Macbook Pro. Plus, with Apple announcing new laptops with their own in-house CPUs, this and next year will be the best years to buy Intel-based Apple laptops, since it'll be several years until Apple transitions to their own in-house CPUs and have their performance on par with Intel or AMD. I just wished the Apple laptops were user-upgradable like my 2011 Macbook Pro laptop, but at least it still has the headphone jack.

I don't like how each manufacturer make their own proprietary software for performance/power management? Why can't they just put the drivers in a way that they can be managed with windows' power options? And if I'm choosing ultra-performance, why throttle down to 15 watts? What I'd like is a 14 inch 16:10 XPS with a bigger battery and 1440p resolution. The trackpad could become bigger and the laptop would still remain portable. 4K for 13 inch was a really poor decision they made and no they don't like downgrading their displays to lower res.

I love how mac people always point out vents on the bottom of windows laptops like its some kind of magical unicorn or something. News flash everyone, better ventilation equals better thermals. Mac needs to get with the program and stop worrying about aesthetics first.

Vents on the bottom don't give great thermals if the laptops is on your lap or on a soft surface

How's Adobe Premiere running on the XPS. Looking for a mobile editing system that is easy to take with me in my backpack. Any word on that?

Camiel Boekelaar should be running very well, just keep in mind there is no option for a dedicated GPU. This laptop is very compact, so I’d recommend it If power and portability is what you’re looking for!

So, you're saying that a newer computer with newer components had better results? Call me shocked.

Wait until apple release fanless MBP with overclocked 16 cores a14x and custom 64 cores gpu plus neural engine

With that many cores and horse power, you are going to need a hell of a lot of cooling
