Max, just to let you know how appreciated you are, I watch your forecasts every day to keep me advised on the weather to protect my data-centers and my co-workers, who are spread all over the US. When there is severe weather, I keep your stream up on a secondary system on my desk and have contacted some coworkers to warn them of impending weather. FYI, that area north of Syracuse in NY that looks like it might get hammered by snow is called the tug hill plateau. They are very used to getting a few hundred inches of snow every year, very popular for snowmobiling and cross country skiing

A quick point of clarification on the Geography of Upstate NY, Max, that area you mentioned as "Rochester" is not correct- that the largest "city" in that area is Watertown, NY, with the heaviest Lake Effect Snow downwind of Lake Ontario on the Tug Hill Plateau in Lewis, Oswego, Jefferson counties.

Music to my ears when I heard the words "Western New York". I am in the Orange area South of Buffalo, NY. You said Rochester many times, but think you meant to say Watertown. The two snowiest areas due to Lake Effect are South of Buffalo "Southern Tier", due to Lake Effect from Lake Erie; and Watertown due to Lake Effect from Lake Ontario. Love the snow if you could not tell. Feel free to come report from my office during this weather event, also hosting Thanksgiving, so you won't go hungry.
