I gotta say, you do an incredible job with these videos. I thoroughly enjoy relaxing at home and watching these races daily. Personally, I worked in Southern California at the big tracks throughout my 29 years with horses. In 1989, I took a horse up to Bay Meadows to run in a cheap race... nothing special. But what was special was the horse was claimed, and Instead of returning to Santa Anita, I stayed at BM and looked for a job. I ended up rubbing horses for Jim Hilling in 1989 through 1991. It was a great time in my life. Just taking In the sights, going over to GG when the BM meet was over...it was truly a life lesson on you'll never know what's out there if you don't live a little. I always look for races from 89' to 91', but I haven't seen anything yet. My biggest day was rubbing the winners of the daily double one day back In 89' I believe. Ron Hanson rode both horses...one trained by Jim and one that was sent up north from Neil Drysdale to break his maiden, which he did impressively. When I bet the double, with 5 minutes to post, it was paying $17. When all was said and done, it ended up paying $9 or $11 and change after Wayne McDonnell went to the window for him and Ron's bet. I should have known...lol. Anyways, again, I for one truly appreciate the time you spend putting these clips together, and will look forward to future posts.

Are you suggesting Ron Hansen wasn't totally on the up and up? O_O :-D But seriously, thank you for your story. I will be posting some footage from 1989-1991 in the future, but it's only going to be stakes races.

@airforbes1 Ron was Ron...that's for sure. He had a great feel for the horses..a true natural. Really sad what happened to him. He just needed to downshift in life but kept going for a.gear that didn't exist. It was fun times...

Nice job. A lot of times the old replay shows weren't archived by the tracks

It's always nice seeing your name pop up. If you like old replay shows, you are in for a treat. Later this month I'll be taking a break from Northern California content to post some Calder (1992 and 2001) and Hialeah (2001) replay show footage that was provided to me by a friend.

@@airforbes1 Thanks, I took a break for a while, I'm trying to get back motivated. I look forward to those FL replays. Used to love Phil Saltzman's Calder calls. Keep up the great work
