Shawn Christopher Nichols, born on November 7th, 1990, went to be with the Lord on April 22nd, 2023, at the age of 32. Shawn was the beloved son of Carol McCarty. He was the cherished brother of Kenya Brooks Jones, who adored and raised him from a young age.
Shawn had a passion for life and was always eager to experience new things. From his days as a camp counselor and marching band leader at Alabama A&M, to his time as an intern for Kenya, and his college marching band days, Shawn touched the lives of many with his infectious spirit and joy for living. He was known for his electrifying dance moves that lit up the room and brought a smile to everyone's face. Shawn had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a proud member of the United States Navy and served his country with honor and distinction.
Shawn's faith in God was unwavering, and he lived his life with a deep sense of purpose. He was a true testament to the scripture from Ecclesiastes that reminds us that there is a season for everything, and a time for every purpose under heaven.
Shawn will be deeply missed by his mother, Carol McCarty, his sister Kenya Brooks Jones, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other family members and friends. While we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
