The updates look really cool. As a modeler I've been using third party plugins for a lot of these operations so it's nice seeing more of them becoming standard in Maya.

So have I for Boolean operations and retopo. It is convenient to have both tools in the same app and they're now fully functional

If youre modeler i would recommend blender. I've used maya in my studio and after 3 years I tried blender and now i can't imagine modeling without it. It has most of the features that "I wish maya had" when i used stil didn't know about blender.

@@sarkamari oh yeah i know that, i was just recommending what I think is a better tool for modelling. I still do animation and rigging in maya because don't know how to do it in Blender

Here's a tip: if you're going to talk about a tool, can you describe what it really is? For example, you talk about the blue pencil tool, but we don't know what it really is. Does it stick to cameras? Does it draw on an image plane? Is it vector shapes, is it rastor? Does it create objects? Can you use them? etc. All I know is that it exists, and it draws on the viewport, which is what we all knew about it before you mentioned it.

Hi any ideas how to bring back the Tab selection with the manipulator tool? it is really annoying now when you lets say select two edges with Tab while in move tool/select tool and do "bridge" the tool is changed to manipulator tool and now you can't use Tab to select new edges, you need to select the move\select tool again first... it wasn't like this in previous versions..

Hi Mohammed Using the same bump2d node if you wish to use it as a bump map. If you would like to use the map as displacement then you need to add displacement shader. I do have a video just on that. Hope this helps

How are we gonna bevel those holes made with the Boolean tool? Its kinda useless.

If you plan for it by instering edge loops to create correct landmarks you should be able to bevel the edges. On a flat surface fewer loops allows you to bevel the edges. The tools not usless

For many years. New versions of maya are more like a free updates . Autodesk can't develop maya. It's a fact.

its like maya 2023 or whatever continues to not accept the future is parametric and offers seperate tools that do a part of the job not the whole job like houdini, till it faces that fact and builds a houdini type node editor with sweep mesh and booleans and filletted booleans panelling , full cad nurbs to poly, spline curves,and layered sculpt and layered paint, and remessh all in the same history stack with physics its just a piecemeal program that annoys the operator
