I managed to find a .obj exporter for SolidWorks so I model in SW and UV map now in Maya. Just find modelling in Maya quite difficult but I am working on learning it.

+Serkan Korkmaz Serkan, I will reply in English as the majority of subscribers doesn't read Dutch. I am glad you like my channel and are considering to start one yourself. But if getting a lot of subscribers is your goal remember this is a lot of work. I have been spending between 10 and 30 hours a week on the channel alone since 2014. If you do it, do it because you love it :-) Mike

+Mike Hermes yeah I know it's a lot of work and I do it for the amount of work I have to put in so I can get used to the industry. I see youtube like a company that wants certain models of me. The subscribers are the company and I'll model what they want me to model.

Great video as usual! I followed along and learned some new stuff. Would it be possible for you to make a video where you model a skyscraper? Im building a city scene for an assignment.

Great tutorial!! I got one question: Is it possible to apply a brand logo decal on the object, using KeyShot? For example: the drone you've made it with their manufacturer logo on it.... is that possible?
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+Marcel Campos Yes, that is actually very easy in Keyshot

Hello mr Hermes. Is keyshot something that i should get, or is Maya enough for my designs. Is texturing easy and better is keyshot or should i stick to Maya. Thank you
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+harispagal Maya and Keyshot are very different. Keyshot is mainly for rendering ( like for commercials etc ) Although Keyshot renders look very very cool it's limited in use

Hi Mike, I've been wondering: whenever you extrude a face, does that mean that you have 2 faces, one inside the other one? I've never checked that out myself, but it's kinda looking that way.
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+g43654 That is actually a very good question. The answer is NO. There is no face where it was before. I does leave edges behind though
@g436548 жыл бұрын
+Mike Hermes OK, can you merge faces? I used an oversized cube to make a room, then I used edge loops to extrude, inside the cube, a kitchen bench. Not the best way but now by raising a floor tile to make said bench, I have two faces overlapping in the corner, on the wall :/
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+g43654 To be honest that is probably never going to work and my advice would be to start over. ( hope you don't have too many hours into it )

+Daniel Peace Daniel, I will do my best to do something soon ( no promises ) But keep in mind that Maya has the option to insert footage as well as pictures ( Do you know the View - Image Plane - Import image option ? Instead of image you select movie )
@Daniels2l8 жыл бұрын
Mike Hermes thanks mike, i`ll try that out, i guess i can put that behind a transparent blin as the tv convex glass right? but still, not rly what i wanted, i believe i cant export that to one of my games in UDK, but thats an answer alright, thank you man, you rock!
@MHTutorials3D8 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Peace That is the only option to bring footage in. I am not sure about UDK

Double negative.
