I've been saying this since her first Animal Sex Facts video! 🤘 Maya, Lindsay Nikole, and Ze Frank are seriously showing us the future of education. _(and others, but these are the ones I watch)_ Had this been the method when I was in school, I would've learned so much more... They're able to connect with their audience and keep them engaged, which is LITERALLY the opposite to our education system! (at least in the US heh) The classes I had in highschool that were like this, with the teacher being relaxed, talking to us like we talk to each other, and would joke around, were my elective classes of Welding, Wood Working and the various Automotive classes. Which were the ones I actually learned stuff and had stuck with me 25yrs later!

hagfish slime is also crazy in that it's almost entirely sea water. The hagfish itself only secretes a small amount of substance, but that substance mixes and reacts with the water around it to form the slime. The slime is also incredibly strong, so much that it's been dried and woven into fabrics. It's like if you put a jello packet in a full bathtub and it turned the whole thing into one massive soggy spider web. Also if you noticed in the clip with the shark, the hagfish waited until it was actively being eaten to activate its slime defense. This is because hagfish are effectively blind and can't see predators coming until they're literally right there, and also because their skin is so flaccid and detached from their bodies that they can kind of just squish out of the way of the predator's teeth and not sustain any permanent damage.

wait, wasn't most of this green screen stuff done live? what would the chat be watching
@DUKE_of_RAMBLE8 ай бұрын
@@alveolateYou DO know that nowa days, we have the ability to do greenscreen editing _in real time?_ 😉 Case in point, all the Zoom calls with fake backgrounds, or streamers with versions of their room that's clean (instead of a cluttered mess), or all the VTubers. Granted, the VTubers aren't using green screen, but equally complex by using realtime motion capture to manipulate their avatar. 😊
@metarmored8 ай бұрын
@@DUKE_of_RAMBLE Yea, but you did'nt awnser. The yt video editor made greenscreen effects after the stream, when it was said 'this was boring so here is some mairo kart'. So @alveolate , the chat most of the time was just lookin at the chalk board, most of the time maya wasn't interacting, pointing or talking about what was on screen and there was a video or image there, it was post editing
@DUKE_of_RAMBLE8 ай бұрын
@@metarmored Well I watched the original Twitch VoD they uploaded, and from what I could tell based on what Maya said (and also from previous streams), is that this was all done in REAL TIME and everyone who watched this stream *live* saw exactly what you see here. I'm other words, it was not done in post, just like a weatherman's green screen. _(except in this video's case, as some things were further edited)_ Not sure why you think this wasn't done in real time for everyone to see...? 🤷♂️ Kind of defeats the purpose of being an educational stream if no one can see the content that she's talking about.

Side note about the Almond/Cherry smelling centipede at 13:30 - the reason there's likely a debate about the two scents is because Almond Extract is the flavor of Artificial Cherry. So intense almond flavor/scent is what's most commonly associated with things like cherry ice cream and the like.
