The mindset I have is, there are too many safety nets these days. The problem is in order to get help, they need to be willing to help themselves. In the 70s when I was a kid my single mother was able to get food clothing and housing, so there is no reason for young able bodied people of today to be panhandling, they do it so they can support their habit. So I never ever, give. I do give to multiple charities though.

Thank you for being love. We don't know someone's story, but we might be changing a life. My adult son was homeless, for some time. He told me that he was talking with another homeless man, and this man said that one time, when he had a cast on his arm, a woman stopped and gave him $20. My son asked him to describe the woman/car. Then he realized it was me that did that. He told the man that it was his mom. The man expressed how touched he was and that he'd never forget it. Jesus said we will always have the poor. It's our duty to help them in love. ♥️

There are genuine people in need so you never know. He maybe just asked people for a dollar until he had enough to buy a meal. Giving is a good thing. A good shop I feel, even if you will keep some for yourself.

I've mentioned this on another channel's video but I haven't mentioned it here. I love that you love Halloween. My 7-year-old grandson is autistic & absolutely obsessed with Halloween. His dad's house (my son) is decorated 365 days a year for Halloween. Last month my grandson wanted to go pumpkin shopping, but obviously, pumpkins are not in season in July so we ended up with orange peppers. I'm sure my son's neighbors wonder why there's a Halloween wreath & light up pumpkins (like the ones you got this trip) out on the front porch year round & then along comes a dozen orange peppers one weekend. It brings my grandson so much joy so why not have a Halloween party every day? I'm here for it! 🎃

With the pumpkins, buy a bail of hay and put them at your new home. You can also use the hay for Thanksgiving deco...then use the hay for out around a tree or scrubs...when you was looking at the pumpkins I was telling you to buy them all..I really wanted them but you couldn't hear me cause I'm in Alabama...lol

Jocelyn, I think that original pulp/mixed media framed art was a good piece. It had a unique color pallet, and someone thought enough of it to spend a very tidy sum to mat and frame it. Also, the date on it, makes it vintage. Fun punkins/pumpkins. ( :

Yes my mom owns a (Mixed Media) piece by that some artist. Most of her work is from the 90's and sells for a decent amount. It has such a nice soft pallet that at never goes out of style. Wish she would have picked it up.

With vintage pumpkin pails look for the handles to be wider and flat and they will have silver rivets in each side holding on the handles, also you want it to be more thick plastic, vintage Halloween is my jam 🎃

I know people will warn you about situations like the young boy. I look at it differently. My thoughts are what if it was an angel sent as a test. He wasn't there when you left so just think of it as you passed. You did good. As I said before your parents raised you well. I love Halloween, all the pumpkins were fantastic.

@@Frugal_fitchic I have to agree with you! The police in my small-town in Virginia have just issued a warning on "distraction scams" People are approaching you, asking for money or to "help" you. While you are distracted their "partner" comes out from nowhere and attacks you! We have had this happen enough that the police say if someone approaches you for any reason, do not engage, slow down, or "help" GET AWAY QUICKLY!

@@Frugal_fitchic Totally agree, it’s not good to engage. We had an area where addicts stayed close to a super market and panhandled. One night one was hit by a car and killed crossing the highway. The point is, he had bought alcohol with donation’s and was impaired. So that’s enabling. But it’s a personal choice. I had an addict almost attack me at a mall parking lot year’s begging for money and I said no but I would buy her food at the fast food, she was mad but let me buy the food then started screaming bc she wanted money. She was having bad withdrawals. But hearing about it being a lure to distract today is really scary.

Looks like the streets of NYC are going to be loaded with homeless. Are we to turn our back on them. Sorry it's just a sad situation, to see people on the streets.

@@Frugal_fitchic Yes and it was dark. We had gotten out of a convention and gone to the mall and were walking out to the car and the woman approached us out of nowhere. You could tell she was having withdrawals and desperate. She did not want food, she wanted a fix. I literally after having drug problem’s in my own family have chosen not to give anyone money to buy drugs or alcohol.

Hollowen is a fun time I think some people are scared of it I like it my child hood memories of going trick or treating are awesome I remember this one house in our road was so much fun they would welcome us in have warm apple cider popcorn balls and talk and guess who we were it was very nice very warm people My Aunt dressed up like a witch I mean she was good looked like a real witch and sit on her porch with her bowl of candy and make her voice cranky she would say ok there you little kiddies what are you looking for it was awesome sorry just had to share that Take care

If you find nice sconces but the metal is oxidized, just get the same color spray paint and spray over it. There are so many spray paints, for different surfaces. I've seen people use a shiney gold to make something damaged look new again.
