​@@arc7375 being immortal doesnt change the amount of time he spent actually conscious on earth. sure he couldve been created with the mind of a teenager, but hes not been living and experiencing life that long, thats just the mentality he came preprogrammed with. if itd only been say 8 years since his creation when the ark disaster occurred, that means he was, in essence, an 8 year old. he might think and act like a 15 year old, but hes only had the life experience of an 8 year old (trapped in space away from people, no less). and 50 years of stasis means that hes still got just those 8 years of experience theres too much nuance to shadows age thats really hard to wrap your head around. like in the games canon, hed probably only been alive a few months before the ark disaster because sega cant do math properly

I hone in more about "the fans know these characters better than we do, and their input is gold" Fans are a useful resource of EVERY interpretation of a character and know everything that has been tried and experimented with. Many have done experimenting with them on their own. Their advice should be seen as exactly that- advice. They can objectively tell you what works, what doesn't, and what has been tried before. They will tell you how far you can push without deviating entirely from the character.

13:02 I did. I was 11 years old. I grew up with these characters being my heroes and my escape from reality of being a lonely kid with friends that mostly looked down on me. So watching this movie was like having my core self come back again, refreshed. I always wanted to be like Sonic. Carefree, kind, strong, and caring of everyone.
