Ok, I just watched the joe Rogan interview with Maynard and I was very disappointed. I’m seeing the pattern of Joe finding common ground so he can talk about himself. It is very annoying and arrogant. I left that interview with so many questions for such an interesting person. I fell in love with perfect circle and tool which made me want to learn more about Maynard. Sammy amazingly asked those questions with a short format. I wish Sammy would have the second interview from a artists perspective. I’m not musically inclined or artistic in any way so I find Maynard fascinating. Please also get a expert vintner there to feed Sammy some questions. I don’t need a interesting musician to tell me how to live my life and parent my kids, but he’s a unique dude. I wish him success and happiness.

He has said he has done too much acid in HS in an interview I saw with him,---but I know that is not true because I used to wrestle with him on the HS team. He was an athlete, and a pretty good student I think, (I never had a class with him, one grade different). I remember talking with him in the hall hang out during one lunch break, about some cute chick that he almost dated, and I asked him, "What would you do if you were out, and she pulled out a joint?" To my surprise, (because I thought she was too hot to say this), he said, "I would dump her." I think the crap of the entertainment industry is in there a bit, but not beneath the roots. He may have experimented since then, but he is too productive to let drugs run his life IMO. I think he has proven that.

@@EarthSurferUSA What a Great Anecdote! Yes, he kinda dislikes "dumb drugs", but has experience Peyote in the past in the right enviroment (with indigenous people, during a ritual). It's Al Jourguensen who said in the past that he accidentally gave Maynard LSD on the Lollapalloza tour of '93... and that even though it was by accident, Maynard thanked Al about those hours. But he is known to avoid drugs and being a very "disciplined guy". Cheers!

Actually judging by his work ethic I'd say he's done more psychedelics than the other members lol, generally speaking people who have a lot of psychedelic experience are highly motivated and constantly improving themselves and the world around them. It's possible the other Tool members have taken more and just didn't get the message as strongly whereas Maynard has more fully integrated the psychedelic experience into his life. Either that or he's just smart/lucky.
