Her stance: I'll talk to the families of the victims of violence regarding their loved one's cases before I talk to the media regarding the victims' cases. However, I'm not speaking to that particular family. Although, if I did, I wouldn't tell the media what was said. Perhaps the logic is that the police chief needs to take the lead on these issues, and she simply doesn't have time to speak to all of the families impacted by violence. However, the delivery is cold; this stance that might be based in valuing productivity and sticking to a schedule over the optics of appearing accessible for likability. Unfortunately, it might impact her at the polls. It seems she's more annoyed with the media for making this a mayoral issue rather than turning to Chief of Police who ought to be at the helm of all investigations.
