Wouldn't it be nice to have quality like that back in our lives? I'm sure that old technology has it's limitations and issues but just seeing how heavy duty everything was back then is refreshing. And it still runs. My 5 year old washer had to be replaced because it became non-repairable. Crazy.

Buy an older model, take it apart, and slowly put it together. I have an ancient Miele (sure, they cost a foot and an arm, but when you pop one open, and see cast iron, cast iron, stainless, metal, barely any plastic at all, you know you made a good purchase) i've been using that bastard for almost 20 years now. I did a make over on the internals recently and expect it to last again, if not more. New stuff? GARBAGE. Full of plastic, cheapest stainless, thinnest they could use, the pumps are utter shit, the rubber baffles or tubes are rotten from the factory...remember when i went to buy parts for my repair (because the market is still full of them, even tho the fuckers say "it's unfixable" and there was a leaning tower of outer plastic drums half blocking the door in the shop, all of them used, and to be thrown out after the plastic mounts had snapped. PLUS, it's a hazard to own a modern one, mainly because even in old properly build ones, if the shaft snaps, there's a chance the inner (still stainless) drum might come undone and act like a freaking cleaver and cut right through the top of the washing machine. And i am not kidding, there's tons of stories about people getting hurt.

You are right about the clutches being similar to Briggs. I needed to relax tonight RK. I've got a Tecumseh snowblower giving me grief. I think ANOTHER valve grind. (OK not grief) I can see grandma pushing on that peddle. How you do this without Editing is beyond me You are a MASTER!!!

Unusual seeing an ID/information plate just sticking up unsupported like that. May have something to do with unsupported tags getting broke off accidentally, or people just breaking them off for the heck of it.

Lol, so true...and for who ever tried telling roadking it isn't a set screw, you are wrong. Set screws were square heads until socket heads became popular. They don't round off like socket heads either.

Eh, paint scratches happen, they can be fixed. Even on super expensive stuff. Personally, whenever i do a project, i just leave the paint or lacquer top coat rough. Makes me laugh on TV when they go nuts about some scratch like it's the end of the world.
