Maytag Dryer Repair- Gas Valve Coil Diagnosis & Replacement

I do most of my own repairs and I have fixed NG dryer valve. The electrical circuit that controls the burner valve is brilliant and involves a flame sensor, igniter, and three solenoid coils. The igniter is the key to the coils becoming energized. Before it becomes glowing hot, it acts as a resister. Once it is glowing, its resistance drops and allows the coils to receive the current they need to energize.

Another symptom of a bad solenoid is the igniter will come on and go off without the gas coming on. It may take a while for that symptom to display itself. In my case it took three burner cycles for it to happen. At least they’re easy to replace.

How do you determine when it's time to change the Dryer Drum Support Roller?

Doesn't the thermal fuse do a similar thing?

I change in mine the selenoids and the flame sensor, still have the same problem. any ideas?

After replacing thermostats & thermistor etc I've concluded it's the cellenoids....I'm done taking mine apart to install new parts. I just cut a hole for access.ha!

If the flame comes on for 30 seconds and goes out and will not flame up again . The small coil on the gas valve is bad.
