Maytag F21 error code fix

This is how I fixed the F21 error code on MY washer. (My washer wouldn't pump water out. The water pump motor was very hot. I took the pump motor apart and found the impeller shaft to be wobbly. A new pump fixed mine.)

you are a rock star, the easy fix is the cleanout tray, but you can actually remove the 3 phillips screws carefully to remove the motor. In my case the blockage had leaked through the screened filter and then clogged the impeller on the motor. Once removed check the impeller, remove blockage. note there is a circular o ring to seal it, fell off almost missed it when i re-assembled. thx you saved me a service call and and a bunch of money.

That black rubber boot has a coin collector like a plastic cup inside of it you need to pull that out of there because that catches all your big things your coins other things that people leave in their pockets you need to get that emptied out and cleaned out because it is going to hamper the water flow for the drain and also some debris can get through that sometimes and maybe damage your impeller

TY for posting I have the Maytag 3000 Series. I got the dreaded F21, cleaned out the white plug, found lots of coins and a pen. Motor next to it is making a weird sound and now I get the "Sud" reading when there's no suds. Guessing I need a new part.

S v Might be. That’s what my problem was. My guess is that due to the motor shaft bearing going out it caused the impeller not to pump enough fresh water in to rinse it.

I suspect my drain motor went too... the catch tray was not too clogged, I cleared it, and got an F-21 again :/

@@mandythomas1688 I forced it off with a pry bar. I mess it up a little. But I couldnt find any thing else about it anywhere. Sorry I just saw your comment.
