That is why Floyd stayed undefeated because every fight he saw it as a war and not just a sports competition. That's why boxers now in days don't take risk or are afraid to get hurt because they see it as a boxing match or fight...naw this is life or death and you better see it that way or you'll loose. Ain't no one watching out for you other than yourself

Not from the US or Britain, so I could enjoy the fight without all the crap patriotic s*** bias that most of you guys had. And it felt great. Floyd is really a showman. You may call him arrogant or whatever, but one thing is clear: the guy can box and he uses his brains in the process. He proved once again, if that was still necessary, why he's the best.

That's how the heart is built, through hard-core training, and the right way; preparation is key to success. You get the thought of losing out of your mind through the course of training. You work on all your flaws, all of the possibilities that could happen to you... so by the time you step in the ring, you are not only prepared, but you are absolutely prepared for anything to happen.
@GetDamage16 жыл бұрын
woah, I have never seen any of his earlier interviews. he lives up to my expectations. This man is a very smart guy. He seems pretty nervous and someone who plans well ahead. No wonder he has good defense and fast reflex.He knows a lot about his opponents fighting style and the ins and outs of boxing and everything that associates with it. Very smart fighter. In boxing and in life.

two serious injures that needed surgery, not to mention he got surgery after the Hatton fight, again from an injury that may have happened in training. Tszyu was being counted out in the Mitchell fight, but since he knocked Sharmba out early, people forget his past: the injuries, the inactivity, the fact he was having trouble with Jessie James Leija (and didn't look sharp), etc. And of course, he was a big 140 pound fighter who was still trying to make 140,

You heard wrong then if that's what you think, the reality is he retired, at the time Pacman hadn't beat ODLH or RH. Actually what he has done is come out of retirement FOR Pacman, he's probably got a bit of ring rust, so he is getting rid of that on a guy that gave Pacman "nightmares" JMM in a tune up fight. Imagine that, he is tuning up on a 3 weight world champion - mark of a true great. P.S haters want him to be in trouble with the IRS, but its a lie. Hate is a deep thing.

Actually Cotto fought very well against Mosley, the only two worst Cotto fights were against Torres and Corley, but recognize this Cotto is a supe boxer and highly skilled with unreal power an deceptive speed, he was snapping Mosley's head back with hard shots, but I will agree that he aint messing with Floyd, Floyd will capitalize off of Cotto's mistakes, Mayweather will str8 rip Cotto, but Cotto will bust Floyd up a little, but Mayweather would either get a UD or possibly a late TKO over Cotto

Actually Cotto has mentioned Mayweather's name before, and anyway Cotto said he'll fight anybody they put in front of him, he's a true skilled warrior, now reality-wise Floyd will beat Cotto down but it will be a tactical bloody war, Cotto has a puncher's chance against Floyd, but anything can happen, if Cotto catches him like Corley did, he may possibly have a chance.

1 year of inactivity can kill a fighter, let alone 2-3. We saw what happened to Ali missing 3 years, and he wasn't even in his 30's. It's bad enough elite fighters today only fight a couple of times a year because of the payout (which they deserve) and the long promotion(s) that are needed, but not being able to train because of injury is terrible. Injury that needs surgery can also disrupt the body's own balance, which may never get to full capacity again, especially a man in his 30's.
@Orangewind17 жыл бұрын
which he had fought his whole career at. Not Hatton's problem, it is Tszyu's, so I don't bash Hatton for something he has no control over in this situation, but he did fight Tszyu with certain tactics knowing all that I have mentioned. For Castillo: the guy was shot, it was clear in his previous fight, not to mention how he looked from the opening bell in the Hatton fight.

@kingq01 nice point to bring up. i think there is a rule when to and when not to punch an opponent. in olden times when a boxer's glove separated from the canvass the other boxer can punch him. i guess the punch was acceptable and seen as sportsmanlike other wise the noise in boxing world would be hard to contain like what happen to the floyd act.
@Orangewind17 жыл бұрын
What Floyd is saying is on the lines of truth; however, it isn't good to put down your opponent because it takes away from your victory. What he says about Tszyu and Castillo, was known and thought about by those that understand sports, fighting, and the human condition. But, people are to blind, even "smart" ones, because they don't see what is actually going on. Tszyu: 9 rounds in 3 years...

From "The Sweet Science" SPEEDBAG:- The union between Mayweather and Smirnoff almost collapsed before the tournament even started. The egocentric Mayweather wasn't following any directions and wanted to quit several times during rehearsal. A frustrated Smirnoff acknowledged that Mayweather was blessed with God given talent and could win the entire competition.
@Orangewind17 жыл бұрын
But because of Mayweather's stubbornness she was leaving. With Mayweather feeling hurt, he went after Smirnoff and apologized. Mayweather admitted to Smirnoff that she is the boss." This releates to "Dancing with the Stars"

The only time Hatton didn't look so great was when he made the step up in weight, and of course this made it difficult, Mayweather says he is really 130, so i guess it wont be a problem this time. I understand some he faced were not in there prime, but he still beat them, and most of them very convincingly. Mayweather himself has struggled on two occasions.
@Orangewind17 жыл бұрын
He makes a great point about fighters should take control of their careers and promoters are shit, taking a huge cut, and leaving the fighter with the least amount when it is all said and done. Not sure on the math, but it would probably go something like this: Uncle Sam: 55%, Promoter: 35%, trainer 10%, Cut-man ??? {I hear 50 thousand from major fighters}, plus cost of travel, training costs {which includes paying sparring partners}, etc. You might be able to get certain things written off.
@kingq0113 жыл бұрын
@iota1962 Were you saying that when Manny hit Marquez while he was down? Yeah the 3rd knockdown in the 1st round; no need to punch the man while he's down, but not a mention of it. It has to be just pure hate for Floyd.

All that said, I think Hatton is a top fighter, no doubt. And he will be a tough fight for even Mayweather, especially given Mayweather hasn't fought up to his own standards/self in a bit. Hatton's short arms are also good for his deceptive speed.
