Another great video peter that vw is running like a clock on the proper fuel I get that a lot on diggers with dirty fuel out of tanks and cans it hard to believe someone was going to put that dirty fuel pump in and you could clearly see the other one was messed up. Interesting videos 👍

It is very simple but how easy it is for lads to get caught. This guy rang all up in a heap & I explained what he needed to look at, but ‘ No ‘ he had enough 😂😂😂

Very enjoyable and informative one Peter…as soon as I saw the bits beside the open tank I’m thinking I hope something doesn’t fall in on him…and then the pop up message appears 😂👍🏻 I am fully in agreement…secondhand stuff of this nature isn’t going to give confidence personally that “it’s fixed”. Speaking of fixed the Meriva lives again..and gone back to the owner…2 garages…neither would touch it…well one would “but they couldn’t find a new engine”…would have to say give me a Mazda any day to work on rather than an Opel
@kennedysgarage32816 ай бұрын
I very much agree Damien. No really fiddly bits or flimsy bits that break the moment you touch them. Well done on getting the Meriva going mate. Your getting very good at this engine building crack 💪💪💪

Really great video Peter. Loads of useful tips for people
@kennedysgarage32816 ай бұрын
It can be very easy to get caught out sometimes Michael, as this chap did. He assumed it had to be something else simply because he had changed the low pressure fuel pump. Keep it simple 🤷🏼♂️😂😂😂

Great video AGAIN - years ago I had problems with a few Peugeot diesels juddering under under load going up hills or hard acceleration - stripped the fuel sender unit out and there was a "JELLY" on the filter sock - car would run ok when just driving around but under load the "Jelly" would block the filter sock I dont know if it was someting to do with the plastic fuel tank or just moisture - but seen it on more than one Peugeot /Citroen !
@kennedysgarage32816 ай бұрын
I have actually seen that very same issue on 5 or 6 Ford focus’s with that 1.6 Citroen/peugeot engine. Funny that 🤔🤔

Great show Peter. Very interesting. Sticking second hand parts in a car can be a fools errand. Bet the farmer is loaded as well...main dealer parts can be saucey but they can be the same as generic. (And prices vary from md to md)

Get this all the time on Range Rovers Peter - usually the pump runs but the pipes/filters are toast - baffles me how people miss the fact it's leaking like mad.. otherwise it's a relay that's gone & nothing 12v is going to the pump. Simple stuff to check but it seems to be a mystery to loads. Go figure.
@kennedysgarage32816 ай бұрын
Yes James , so simple but yet so hard for some to figure it out. Never overlook the easy stuff 😂😂😂

Very good explanation Thank you! Is it possible or worthy to change the fuel pump soft bag filter? Or there is no spare filter to purchase? I watched other Vid about WV V6 TDI engine where the mechanic complained about need to replace the entire pump as that filter is not replaceable.. this half size of WV engine might have smaller/different fuel pump... ?
@kennedysgarage32816 ай бұрын
As the other mechanic said, I also haven’t ever come across the Fuel sock filters separately (soft bag filter) . They are most likely available but there are quite a few different variations of them 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
