Mazda 6 gj Supercharger, 1 week post install

Supercharger is working beautifully!
Still haven't got the tune dialed, but confirmed with data logging that it is running safely now (knock retard, AFR, etc.)

I'm living through you lol was considering getting rid of my 6 but after seeing your progress with this kit I've decided to keep the car indefinitely. A proper tune will give you a a whole lot more low-mid end power, makes it not feel sluggish (I'd been tuned for about 2 years prior to this). Then when you want to make it really feel like it wants to go, just drop this in there and for about $5k it's a ~3.5L :)

@@M6Ninja that would honestly keep me happy for a long time. Would you recommend DRTune? That's who I'm considering as ovt gave up on us. There's another company based out of Russia, if I'm not mistaken, called M-Force Tuning they seem pretty legit too. Price is basically equal for both.

@@ElSikario100 I would just go with DRTune (OVTune is a guy in Phillipines now, slower communication) good for +20-25hp, especially mid range torque

Looks great! I would swap the worm screw clamps for spring compression clamps. The ones you have are highly susceptible to heat and can cause leaks over time. Clamps that require a plier tool to add and remove are higher quality metal and less likely to leak. They're constantly under compression.

I understand how you feel. I've gone this route of adding a supercharger to my old Mazda and it was more trouble than it was worth for me. Individual experiences do vary when upgrading your car. If I ever do this again, i'll follow the advice I was given when I was 26. Buy a car that's already fast, then mod it to make it faster.

how about the throttle control, because engineering explained supercharged his miata, and he said that the problem with the edelbrock was the mapping of the throttle body because it‘s far more complex :o than just open and close

The power sucks cause you drive it in D instead of manual mode and banging out each gear to 6,000 RPM. You can have fun with the car either driving for Torque (staying around 3200 RPM shifting around 5200 to drop back into torque range) or you can drive for peak horses. It's not a straight line burner but its not slow either i've beaten mustangs and chargers with my 2014 Mazda6 GT. This car is a canyon/mountain carver.

sadly without the tune remapping the throttle input the throttle plate is a little slow to open. When trying to launch better I can hit 6.3sec 0-60, which ironically matches what I got with fully dialed tune NA, BUT when hitting a 1/4mi I finished at 10mph faster, so there's definitely more power :) Once it's tuned there is supposed to be another 40hp to be gained, hoping to be less than 6sec 0-60, but honestly it's just so fun to drive I'm happy as is!

i live in High heat city and i don't know if this upgrade would handle heat or not hmm

it handles it really well, plenty of people are running it out in the desert. I did add an oil cooler just for extra heat management when I'm out on a race track on extremely hot days.

I recently joined the supercharger 4th gen Mazda 3 group and plan to do the mod myself as well. The guys in the group said you were the first outside of China, but definitely the first in Ontario to do this mod. I would love to pick your brain on this, but first where did you get lithium battery? The oem for the 4th gen suck.

The supercharger company did the tuning as part of the package, took a fair bit of back and forth but finally got it worked. Also, because of the low boost, the car runs fine on stock tune, just not as much power
