Wowww, this really is a fast car. Rev it and it will be faster and far more rewarding to drive than a VW TSI. Hard to imagine that this only has 120 bhp, try this with a 115 TSI for example, this Mazda engine is way better and sounds much nicer. Probably these kind of engines will be far more reliable in the future that todays downsize 3 cilinder engines with turbo. Mazda uses distribution chains which don't have problems and there is no turbo which can go bad and costs large amounts of money to replace.For me, I work as a mechanic for Renault, but for myself I will buy Mazda or Honda because they drive great and are far more reliable that European cars.

It's weird you guys on Europe get this variations of the skyactiv G engines. For example your 1.5l on a Mazda 2 can vary from 75hp (that's like equivalent to a 1.3 B series engine of mazda) to 115hp while in my country it's 108hp. Our 2.0 on the Mazda 3 is standard 150hp and the mild hybrid version is around 160+hp.

I have the 120 hp selection. The engine is fine, power and torque quite early, max speed in 5th gear (the 6th is an eco one), no turbo lag, chain, no particles filter and ecology rules respected...Why everything is so complicated?

What was your average consumption? This engine like to rev, old school characteristics without turbo.

It was at 7.3 liter/100 km

C'est ce que j'avais remarqué également.quand on a l'habitude des boîtes 5 c'est difficile de passer la 6 ème mais sur autoroute c'est tout de même bien de se forcer a le faire pour la consommation et surtout pied au plancher

Bad top speed video. Take another Autobahn or time to ride there. In the whole video i didn't see the top speed. You did your best in trying to blow op the engine in 5th gear. You can't drive my car.

top speed is in 5th gear, 6th is only for low fuel consumption.
