I did mine myself without experince. It went fine. I will say you have to make sure to get the updated version of the coolant valve. Mazda made a new version of it. And remember there are different one for automatic gear. Good look

Thank you for this. I just had mine replaced under warranty today on my 2023 Mazda CX 5. Hopefully it’s the last time I’ll need to replace this part.

Good job getting it done. I'm sure she's good to go with that new part.

How many miles before it break?
@ShopForemanGarage7 ай бұрын
This vehicle I believe had about 24000 miles on it. But, it could happen at any time. Or not at all. The check engine light will come on.

My 2022 Mazda cx-30 got check engine light on with only 10k miles. Dealer replace a new coolant valve. Fortunately it's under powertrain warranty.

Very interesting video thank you.....✌️....now any idea of losing coolant with no leaks at all? 2019 Mazda cx5 with only 60,000 Miles.....

Thanks for watching. And thanks for your support. Could be a number of things. Bad head gasket, cracked cylinder head, or a bad radiator cap.

The good old thermostat did the job just fine. Why did they have to go and make something so basic so much trickier and expensive?
@cashonly25396 ай бұрын
They really should have a recall for this. I know dealerships hate warranty jobs, but since this is an easy one....
@ShopForemanGarage6 ай бұрын
My guess is not enough failures for a recall. I think a warranty extension would help.

@@ShopForemanGarageI got the code not too long ago. The car runs fine, didn't have trouble heating up nor overheat. I cleared the code with an odb scanner and it has not resurfaced since. I'll keep that on next time and drive to a dealership

I just did this job on my daughter’s 2019 cx-5 and it went well but was a pain.

Yeah but, after you've done a few of them. It's not too bad. Good job getting it done for her. Thanks for the comment.

Great videos but you should include miles of the cars with the issues
@ShopForemanGarageАй бұрын
Good idea! It looks like it had 23987 miles. At 17:03 I can see the milage on the cluster. I do remember that this one was covered under warranty.

I have a theory....to me it seems like all the people having issues have the lower trim models. They dont have heads up display and they dont have a temperature display.... They dont have all the bells and whistles. Both of mine were top trim levels...and i had a temperature gauge. It was always perfect. Every single yhing was flawless except the rear brakes...they wore out faster yhan the front..also...mine were both made in japan. Some mechanics swear that matters more than anything...
@ShopForemanGarage6 ай бұрын
I couldn't say for sure if trim level or whether it was made in Japan or Mexico would make a difference. If it's the same engine, then it's the same part. I can tell you for sure that the rear brakes do in fact wear out faster then the front no mater the trim level.

Great video . I have 2021 mazda3 hatchback 2.5 turbo. I feel mine takes long to get to normal operating times. Usually 10 minutes drive and still not at the half way mark. No check engine light ON. Possible my valve is bad. ????
@ShopForemanGarage7 ай бұрын
It's possible. The PCM performs many tests to determine if it is stuck or not. It has to fail these test 3 times in a row to set a check engine light for this code. Make sure your coolant level is good. Low coolant can give a false reading and seem like the engine is staying too cool when it is actually the opposite.
@nelsonnarciso17917 ай бұрын
@ShopForemanGarage thank you. Level is at the correct mark when cold. Have no codes. Just fi that it takes long for it to warm up. Maybe it's just the way mazda run. But for now I've gotten use to it. Thanks for your Reply. Keep up with the grest video.

The 2.5T has a different valve and I've not had one go bad on a turbo engine yet. My CX9 was notoriously slow to warm. Most Mazda's are.
@beka.m.34906 ай бұрын
how often the valve must be replaced i mean lets say the car is 2020 and is there any chance that i replace it once for good and you forget about its existence and one more question does mzxda cx 30 2020 have the same issues if you compare cx5 and cx30 ?
@ShopForemanGarage6 ай бұрын
It's not an issue. You replace it the same amount that you would a thermostat in an engine. Sometimes never. Yes, CX-30s have them too.

Thank you for a helpful video. But lose the long intro, loud music and unnecessary clips (road trip, car wash, etc) and maybe give a little helpful commentary during the replacement.
