I have this exact car in Eternal Blue. Best car I have ever had. Minor complaints include lack of wireless Apple CarPlay, no memory seat exit settings, and manual adjusting steering wheel. Huge upgrade from my former Lexus NX. I don’t use premium gas and the performance is just fine. Six speed transmission and no CVT. No rattle prone pano sunroof, either. I’m a believer!

Picking up a Signature 23 demo (6k miles) Saturday. How is your MPG? as rated or better?
@CarynParadis6 ай бұрын
24 does have Wireless appleplay(I have Samsung) and touch screen. I made my 2nd seat setting an exit settings. Steering adjustment is a one and done for me so a non issue

Maybe the easy entry/exit is off in your CX-5. I think it should be included in the driver's seat memory system

Very knowledgeable, articulate review. I’d avoid any turbo because they are something likely to break down.

The turbo only kicks in when you jam on the accelerator hard and often. Under normal conditions, you’ll never use it.

Great video on the mazda cx5 turbo what do you think of the Acura RDX AWD A-spec 2.0 turbo compare to the mazda cx5 turbo your opinion looking forward for your respond stay safe.
@HawkeyeRides10 ай бұрын
They are both excellent vehicles but I like the cx50 a little more than the cx5. The interior has aged and the cx50 takes care of most of my cons or dislikes. The rdx for 24 gets standard awd but pricing is higher than Mazda in which you can go fully loaded with Mazda and save. The turbo in the rdx is better on the highway, up to 45-55 mph both are fun, suspension is a little smoother in the Mazda. Both will last a long time as long as you service them, technically is about the same but the Acura feels a little sportier than the cx5.

I think the acura rdx AWD A-spec 2.0 turbo charge engine burned more gas than what on paper

For a 2024 it is missing USB-C and wireless Apple Carplay. Both are pretty much standard now for this price point.
@HawkeyeRides9 ай бұрын
That is a good point
@jerrygrooms25518 ай бұрын
That's odd, I'm looking at the specs now and they say: "WIRELESS APPLE CARPLAY" and "4 USB audio inputs (Type C)".
@briankronberg8 ай бұрын
@@jerrygrooms2551Hmm. I am seeing that now too. I was at the auto show and didn't see them, maybe it was a lower model. Back USB plugs in the arm rest are definitely USB-A though.
@jerrygrooms25518 ай бұрын
@@briankronberg RE: armrest All my phone chargers still have USB-A sockets; the cables, too, obviously, on one end. Hence, I see that as a plus not a minus. Yes, lower trims don't have Wireless Carplay.
@briankronberg8 ай бұрын
@@jerrygrooms2551 Most people buy a car to have for many years. So at a pivotable time like now where everything is going to the superior USB-C connector, it is bad to see USB-A. Yes, it still works today, but you have to think of the future. And as for the little box with those connectors, it looks like an afterthought. I much prefer ports on the back of the center console. This works best for adults and I don't want kids using them because they will break the ports with rough treatment. I mention this as being a kid under 10 you may not be able to reach the ports with a seat belt on. This is the ONLY reason I could think of why they would move them to the arm rest. It is way better to keep cords plugged in and tucked in to the rear seat pockets when not un use so the passenger can just grab and plug in versus drop the arm rest to get to the cable. There are just way too many scenarios where you cannot even get to the arm rest (5 passengers, center is dropped for storage, etc.).

I'm looking for clarification on how this engine puts out an additional 30 HP just by using higher Octane fuel, when higher octane fuel does not increase the HP of an engine... Does the engine need to be re-tuned as well in order to get that extra 30HP? That's how it usually works for turbo engines
@HawkeyeRides10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your turbo insight and answer for the question 👍
@Highmiles9 ай бұрын
The output is controlled by the engine management software. I don’t know all the specifics, but engine timing is definitely retarded when using regular fuel. It is of note, that Mazda says it will take three tank fill ups, for the computer management to fully adjust to the higher output.

It looks clean , rich and timeless as most of Mazda designs it ages well and with grace ... It is far superior to cheesy generics from other Japanese or Koreans , and in some ways in can rival true luxury Germans ..
@josephsimontacchi228510 ай бұрын
I have been looking at everything The Germans are Nice but their reliability issues and cost make them a lease only option. I love the Acura RDX BUT I’m am not driving a car with my finger on a Touch pad and no gear selector. I like Tech, but to overdo that route annoyed me A lot. Try dealing with that absurdity on I-95 at 80 mph. Yes the Mazda line could use a refresh. Maybe GIGANTIC front Kidney grills like BMW. LEXUS is a well made car, drives nice- but I like to DRIVE. Tough out there
