Mazda CX-7 p2006 cause and fix

This Mazda CX7 Just had a timing chain and turbo done, and now it keeps throwing a p2006 Code. The cause was simple, the arm for the position switch was in the wrong spot. But since mazda used a crappy piece of plastic in a very hot area it broke as soon as I touched it. They don't sell this piece separately, and even if they did it would require removal of the manifold to get to it. So instead I welded a new arm on, the way they should have originally done it.

I used the SteelStick method on my wife's 2008 Mazda CX7. It will take you a couple attempts with the SteelStick and a redneck engineered steel bracket to get it to stick right. I ended up holding the putty on the lever with the bracket in the perfect position for 5-10 mins. I then let is dry overnight before testing it out. The P2006 code was preventing my wife from passing emissions and she was able to pass today with no code. Thanks @pfun41. I meant to take a picture of lever with the steel stick install but forgot.

i have this same car it’s not getting enough power when i’m on a small incline or something and sometimes it’ll randomly not go like i’ll have to press the gas take my foot off and press it again could it be the turbo i’m getting this same code as well

P2006 is set when EEC detects that the valves on the manifold aren't moving. You could have a turbo issue but even if you do you still have an issue with the valves.

This has been a long time ago made. Idk if I’ll get a reply. But I’m having an issue where my runner control says it’s stuck. I’ve replaced that part. My hoses connected to it are fine. Is it possible for a vaccum actuator to go out???

yes. Vacuum actuator or control valve can cause the same problem.

@@pfun41 I figured out what it was eventually. My pcv valve went out. Didn’t know that could cause sooo many codes. Job was pretty hell to do

La pieza plástica empuja el sensor que abre y cierra la mariposa del cuerpo del acelerdor. Tengo el mismo problema. Estoy viendo estos videos par buscar un solución. El problema no es solo qie siempre sale el código p2006 sino que cuando necesito acelerar súbitamente, el vehículo no tiene l fuerza necesaria.
