Mazda CX-7 Valve Cover Gasket Replacement - Oil Leak fix

just in time for my replacing the gasket, guess what the center two spark plugs are soaked in oil - because of the failed center gasket, geez !

Appreciate the video: about to do the same for the first time on my 2011. No intercooler for me so it will be a little easier. Do you have advice on how to find the tightening sequence pages in my model's factory service manual? Looking under Engine-Ignition System is only telling me about the spark plugs.

The VVT actuator seal was not replaced.

Hi Renee, thank you for checking out my channel! you can do all of this with just hand tools (a good socket set and misc), you do not need expensive electric ratchets and impacts and such. But to answer your question, I like my simple 1/4" drive Dewalt impact. Good luck with getting it done!

Question: What year is this Mazda CX-7 and does it have the common smokey issue when the car is idling on a stop or on parking? Did you replace the ventilation kit to resolve this issue? Thanks for your reply.

This work was completed on a 2008 CX-7 and no it did not have any smoking issues prior to this repair. I'm thinking your referring to the PCV system but we did not need to service this system at the time of the repair. Thanks for checking out my channel!

Okay bro what do you use to clean the edges of the valve cover

Easiest way I have found is a shop rag soaked in a bit of brake clean. Thanks for watching!
