Hi I'm new to this old technology I'm kn the process of still learning this since I only do EFI. I. Assuming he recently did this swap and turning it over and on for the first time. My question, why does he Rev constantly after starting it ? Does it die out does he doit to regulate the idle somehow since there is barely to no electronics involved ?

Kamikaze, it’s likely that he doesn’t have a choke so he’s warming it up so that it can hold idle….but also to let us hear it rev.

The 10a had twin points distributors, this motor was converted to single electronic distributor using a RX7 front plate

It was actually quite common, for example the Mitsubishi Cordia GSR was like that from the factory. The only big disadvantage is you cant use an intercooler.

There was a RX7 years ago in Australia (Grant Williams Canon/Strong) with this set up on a 13B, it ran a high 7 second pass with NOS.

Greetings from Malaysia.Great job, love the sound. I have 2 questions hope u can help me with it. 1) Turbo will get very hot on high rpm , will the fuel passing through the turbo burn earlier before it reaches the cylinder? 2) the carburator will be the the only point of entry for air, can the throttle body(here we call it butterfly 😂) hold the vacuum generated from the turbo? How do you control the amount of boost? Your input is very much appreciated.

from what i know is the fuel help cooling the turbo and the boost will be controlled by a internal wastegate

Im from malaysia too sir.. and we do a lot of draw thru setup for saga, datsun, toyota, and mitsubishi..what we do is basic principle of turbo injection, we have all the basic thing,wastegate, blow off,

1 downside of this setup...the turbo seals need really high quality... Else oil will be sucked into the turbo during off-throttle at high rpm... But thats all...

171apples171, hell yeah they can! I get mine sideways about every opportunity I have, and I've beat the piss out of mine for quite a while now with no problems (besides the stock clutch). If you can weld its also stupid cheap. I built my setup for about $500 and that included an afr gauge a carb and the turbo itself

I hope the turbo is a draw through type. They have different seals. normal turbo wont last long and will suck oil through the turbo bearing.

Air+fuel going through the turbo is really a clean setup, but do you get buildup on the blades? This is perfect for an ultra light track car. Something like Gordon Murry's LCC Rocket would be great!
