I would like to thank you. For the past month my car has been giving me overheating issues, i had flushed the system two times got new thermostat housings both top and bottom, went with a mazmart water pump, and still the car was over heating. I saw your video at 10 pm last night. I went outside and did this to my rx8 and at 12 midnight the car was under any hot temperature. THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY RX8

I know this is an older video but I’m just wondering what situation the max temps are for? Just normal driving or any kind of driving? I’ve flushed the coolant on my RX8 for the 2nd time in 4 years just as maintenance and it’s around 95 ish degrees during normal driving. And on track just yesterday I think it rose to 105-110 degrees before I started my cool down laps. There was no effect on performance but I was just being cautious. Did it get too hot aka overheat? Or is that 90 degree mark just for normal driving? I still have the OEM rad by the way which I am planning to upgrade especially for track. Also another thing is, my car is the 192 and does not have that coolant hose on top of the throttle body? So is there any other way to bleed the system properly? Thanks, great video as always 😊

The operating temperature of RX8 is between 95-100 degree Celsius. It delivers optimum power at 100. Temperatures between 96-100 is normal for daily driving. 110 should be your warning temperature to start cool it down by shutting the engine down. (Source : mazdarotaryclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=82161.0 ) You can upgrade the Radiator and may be fan if it is not working but never replace the stock thermostat which opens at 82 degrees with some after market thermostat which opens at lower temperatures. It is not good for your engine as it does not acquire optimum temperatures. This could lead to engine wear and tear and power loss.

How many miles have you got on your car and how many rebuilds?

I need advice for my rx8 2008. We recently changed coils and saw greenish fluid in the gooseneck air pipe which connects air filter with air intake. Do you have any idea what it may be and if that is a concern?
@Drivenbymadness3 жыл бұрын
Hi, the only green fluid is coolant. Does the car smoke a lot (white smoke)?

I have replaced and changed extra fans , upgraded new radiators but temperature still spikes up to 105 degrees c pretty quickly especially on the tracks , anyone has any ideas what could other problems be ?

I love all your videos. I am unsure that your technique is the best for getting rid of air. Air rises, so I am not sure having hose low is going to work correctly as trapped air will be higher in the system. Just my opinion
@Drivenbymadness5 жыл бұрын
THe best 2 tecniques are the ones where you pour in liquid and the either push it out with a pressure tester (safest method) or start the car and wait for fuid to come out ( more dangerous and messy). But as an alternative, this should work fine :)

I reviewed the Mazda RX8 service factory service manual and your approach is not mentioned.

There’s just a ton of coolant coming out of the throttle body and nothing from the hose!??
@iroh57333 жыл бұрын
Did you figure out why?
@sethrifkin70433 жыл бұрын
@@iroh5733 nope, just did it the traditional way with a big funnel and a ton of water.

@Drivenbymadness5 жыл бұрын
IF there is a lof of air trapped inside, once you close the cap and drive the car, the coolant level will drop, cause the car will slowly bleed out the air itself, and it can drop so much that the coolant level light will turn on on your dash. If you have gauges like me, you can prevent any serious damage, caue you have live feed on the real temperature. If you see an abnormal spike, you can shut it down, before it goes too far. No, no check engine lights will appear if you have air inside.
