I have had quite a few Mazdas over the years. Currently a CX30. Here is my humble opinion. Mazda has the best interiors for the price bracket it competes in, and i dare say even better than some more expensive options. Engine wise the 2.0 engine is reliable, fuel efficient and powerfull enough for everyday use. To just compare it is as powerfull as a Opel 2.0 16v 121kw was in its day. And that was The Boss.

Mazda is my favourite car brand, they have some of the best interiors and drives in the industry. I think Mazda’s biggest problem in SA is lack of marketing and not having turbo engine models as an option (in conjunction with NA engines) like they do abroad.

My favourite car brand but Mazda South Africa is not doing the brand any favours especially when you compare our market to what people receive overseas

Mazda needs to grow with the times there's no reason to have outdated cars masked as new we need more power out of the engines where the Turbos and the tech in the cars are terrible when do they plan to evolve??
@weetbix2083Ай бұрын
Great brand and products. There are so many other Mazda products they can bring in to SA that could compete with the Suzukis both commercially and passenger. Mazdas current offering is too exclusive and premium for a country that can no longer able to support such products.

Consumers will always choose Tech over nice interiors just look at how well Volkswagen is doing and they use plastic in their interiors

Mazda needs to bring the CX-9 or another 7 seater to the South African market.

Amazing brand with excellent products and arguably the best interiors in the business. The biggest gripe I have with Mazda is Mazda SA, they don't offer the South African market veriety. Give us what you offer the Australian and American markets

Mazda has no marketing department.

For as long as they keep bringing cars with lazy engines the sales are fast gonna head towards stagnant and total decline altogether. Eventually the CX5 hype will die down!

Mazda's biggest flaw is that they spend way too little on marketing their products which hurting them massively. If only fifi could've asked the MD why that is.

She does not know enough about cars to have asked that question, this channel seems to hire people willy nilly

Spot on their head of marketing is Deolinda Da Costa and a less suited individual for such a fine brand you will not find. As a journalist and individual with 33 years experience in the industry she totally disrespected me. Mazda is in the position it is through leadership that is not the right people for the job. Look at Suzuki look at Haval look Haval look at Chery.. The market is doing well... Nissan globally is in trouble.. Mazda globally is growing.. In SA Mazda Dealerships are closing parts availability is shocking.. Yet you have Craig Roberts as MD having every excuse.. A brand like Mazda can not, not have a Bakkie in the range.. No ifs and buts. Mazda has to have a Bakkie.. If Mazda Japan replaced the MD Mazda will thrive. Right products are available to be brought in.

My feeling about Mazda are : Good, reliable product just not marketed well and their design team is sleeping, there’s absolutely no reason for that interior and infotainment system in 2024/2025
@weetbix2083Ай бұрын
Their interiors are some of the best in the industry. Infotainment is the last thing I look at in a car. If its all integrated I will never consider one.

The tech is very bad though they're interior quality is great the outdated tech makes the polo tsi more Appealing to the Youth and the polo comes with plastic so you can imagine what that says about the brand that knows its clients' needs
@R.I100Ай бұрын
@weetbix2083 maybe your don't look at infotainment but 99% of the people do. One of the reasons Mada is struggling to sell is cause they stuck in the 90s.
@Av777-q9s29 күн бұрын
Mazdas have some if not the best interiors in the business, they outsell VW in the States for a reason. The problem i believe is Mazda South Africa, they don't equip the South African spec vehicles with the latest technology have. Eg. They infotainment system available on the Mazda CX-5 in South Africa is not the same as the infotainment system available in other markets. But in terms of built quality and materials they are top tier

Mazda MD even comes across as being nervous - I think Mazda need a new MD that can inject some fresh vigour to the brand locally.

Is not selling and is expensive compared to the p series and other chinese brands while sharing the same engine and technology with the current isuzu D-max, which means you can just buy a D-max and you are good.
