I just finished swapping a motor on my 2013 Mazdaspeed3 as well. I pulled the motor from the top by removing the hood and only taking off the front bumper. I left the AC condenser attached as well as the lines so I wouldn’t have to recharge the system Also the master slave can come off so you’ll avoid having to bleed the clutch too. Great video. Keep up the good work.

I also pulled the driver side axle with the motor and tranny all together because it would not come off! lol

This looks like a huge undertaking. Instead of using a hammer to get the ball joint out, place the jack under the hub and lift it. That will hopefully allow the lower ball joint to slip away from the hub. good luck on the build!

yea no, you need a pry bar or a special ball joint pry, the jack just slides and collapses

I think if you used an impact socket for the axle nut, it MAY have worked and not cracked your socket

Hello! New to the channel! Do you know if there is much of a difference between a 2010 speed and 2013 when removing engine? Invested on this series! Might encourage me to pull the trigger on what I came across on the market 👀👀

Should be pretty much the same from 2010-2013.

You’ll need 6 quarts of motor oil. And atf for the clutch? That sounds wierd unless you’re meaning the Trans gear oil but I think That also requires least 2 quarts. Loving the videos so far!

New video will be up Wednesday. Changed the release bearing, motor took almost 6 quarts and the trans took about 2 lots to catch you guys up on! Thx for looking out !
