I would love to sit and just talk with Thaao about his travels and experiences. He seems like such a well rounded and very grounded person. A very lovely man and wonderful actor. The producers may not have asked how he was doing, but I am damn glad Thaao is fine and survived Cancer. I also love his friendships with Leanne, Deidre and Lauren. I watch 1 state of mind and it hooked me. I have been going back, watching all of the episodes and have seen how this show has transformed yet there is ALWAYS one thing I can count on from this show….dealing with mental illness. I love these raw conversations that bring out the different types and triggers. No one is the same with this disease and every one is able to offer pearls. Thank you for your steadfast voice!

I cannot tell you how much it means to me that you bring light to these issues! My mom died recently and she was a very bad alcoholic and I hated her for so long until she got sober the last year of her life.. She had mental Illness and her generation didn’t talk about it.. Once I saw what she had to be fighting daily unmedicated, my heart softened and my heart broke that her generation didn’t know why they felt the way they did..so thank you from the bottom of my heart for me and my mom ❤

I actually thought about committing suicide 2 years ago because of my social anxiety attacks when being out of school and took effect on my life. I’m so proud of you for overcoming your fears and opening up to the world what you were going through. It’s part of life and god is there to help you through the good times and the bad. Life is a gift. We have a lease with God. We do not know for how long.. I know for me with. contemplating suicide, it is like the cartoon with a little devil on one shoulder as if, saying " Go ahead kill yourself,, egging you on, al negatively ,so evil. Not God. The other shoulder is a little angel reminding you of our purpose and gift and what is good,true and beautiful. One other negative is " won't they be sorry when you are gone?What? Like you can come back, like you can magically reappear, there is no coming back from suicide. I have known and been very close myself after God spared my life in a car wreck at 20 and now, we are close in age,mercifully. Always, excellent topics. Timely and vital Excellent actors for many years. Uplifting and vital and loving. Love in Christ

My perspective... part of the solution to the challenge of suicide in the US is having mental health being taken seriously by the insurance companies. I'm fortunate enough to be able to pay out-of-network for my coverage since my employer's insurance company fails to pay mental health providers commensurate with their expenses. They are willing to pay my PT 4x an hour what they will pay my LCSW.

None of us asked to be here and many people don't comprehend this concept and then are surprised/upset when people unalive themselves for how difficult life can be for them. That is almost never spoken about, and I think it should be to, hopefully, learn more empathy towards other people. Also, we need to stop with the rugged individualism that MLK warned about when he talked about the class system in this country.
