I love watching GH. Thanks so much Maurice for helping other people with depression. Thats how my Dad died. He killed himself in 2010. I didn't talk about it for like 4 years probably with other people. So thank you and Jon to.

Maurice and Jon: We're a family who has watched GH since April 1, 1963. Down through the years the elder members have passed on and younger ones have joined our group of GH watchers. You're in our homes 5 days a week and we love you. Some of us are genetically predisposed to anxiety and panic disorder. Several years ago, my nephew, who was bi-polar, died the same way as Jon's grandfather. Faith in God has brought us through many dark days and nights. Between November 6th and Christmas day 2023, 7 family members made Heaven their home; none were suicide. For me (the writer), the anxiety has been constant. To battle and overcome the anxiety, I sing, give lots of hugs and take it one hour, one day at a time. Watching General Hospital, listening to and watching State of Mind, is always a blessing.

Many of my friends at NYU studied at the Strasberg studio and hated it, too. 😂😂😂 Other friends studied with Stella Adler. They had to stand and applaud every time she entered and left the room. And also HAD to call her "Miss Adler". (And, apparently, Stella Adler and Marlon Brando had more than a student/teacher relationship.) She was, however, an amazing teacher. Thank you for your openness and your statement about suicidal thoughts. At the time it really does feel like the best option for everyone. There's a post on KZbin that was posted just this morning about what living with long-term mental health issues feels like. Dr. Scott Eilers.

Thank you for being so open about something so hard to talk about.... When I see the emotions that you expressed talking about depression, it has that same effect on me I become emotional , you think you won't , but the thought of it gets me every time..I wouldn't wish depression on someone I hated.. It's so dark ..The feeling of hopelessness is beyond anything I've ever felt.

Excellent interview! Jon's story about his history with depression and potential suicide was so moving and realistic. The family history of suicide and how it can run in the family is very true, and that is why it is important to share that history to make sure that it doesn’t repeat and youth can learn from it. Also, Jon's personality is SO interesting and engaging in ways very different from Kevin Collins. I keep saying this after watching these interviews with GH actors here: the writers need to inject the vibrance of the actors' real personalities into their characters.

JON LINDSTROM - I feel your pain. Rough times for those of us who suffer. I cry all day long, sit in sunshine, suffer alone. For me it's the time of year and not being able to shut my mind off. You are a wonderful person for sharing your private self. I love watching you on screen, I live for my GH at night I watch on HULU. I follow Maurice because of his unique conversations with his peers. Your candor was refreshing. I am in Maine, I have been a viewer since the beginning. You are an amazing actor. Playing two roles must have been demanding. Hang in there, I will respond if you want to share the horrors of hiding deep depression. Or just talk...please know that you have been a great source of entertainment in my lonely world.
