I've discovered that I'm an INFP T in a family of extroverts, it was a relief to discover that I was not "weird". I used to feel so guilty about loving to stay at home and getting drained when I went on social events for too long. This test was like a friend saying "don't worry, you're not crazy". Since then, I feel more confident and free to be who I really am inside with no regrets, trying to improve my social part while enjoying to the fullest my amazing, introverted world 💜. Thank you so much for this video, I'm sure that it will help a lot of people. You're amazing 💜

Just one comment... I feel like if you mixed up feeling a bit... I'm an INFP and I think if you look at the cognitive functions, you'll see the different types of feeling (they're also for T, S and N) so for INFPs we have introverted feeling (Fi) so we have an inner world of values so we are more concerned with being authentic than pleasing people while for eg INFJs have extroverted feeling (Fe) so they are more concerned with the feelings and opinions of others... And these cognitive functions are arranged in a certain order so... yeah 🤗

something that a lot of people leave out of videos like these is the functions! each mbti type has 4 functions, and I recommend reading about them if you want to go more in-depth with this topic. The first function is basically your strongest and the last one your least developed. (I'm an INFP and my functions are introverted feeling, extraverted intuition, introverted sensing and extraverted thinking)

I am an INFP. I believe you did well in briefly explaining the basics of the theory. However, tests are not always reliable. I learned from sources i trust not every test is good. Also, they are really only the first step into really learning about types. I did experience the difference in ways of thinking with my ISFJ love,, the differences in our ways of thinking leads to the occasional confusion and misunderstanding.However, it also shows me the other side of things. She shows me the practical, concrete reality (which is how i stay grounded). She teaches me structure,routine and organization. We balance each other out.

Danyelle Henderson probably a majority of online INFJs are mistyped usually INTJ, INFP, or maybe even others. INFJs are idealized as fortune tellers and wise people which makes people want to be this type. Some people want to be rare. I do think INFJs are more likely to be interested in mbti because their brains work differently than many others and have trouble knowing who they are and why they are that way. When I tried to introduce mbti to my ST heavy family, no one really cared. My friends who are all NFs absolutely love it and do research on their own.

As an MBTI practitioner, I want the viewers to keep a few things in mind: - when you take the assessment, you have to look at your ideal preference; not just your work self or personal self. - we all can do all of these type indicators, but again, it's about your ideal preference. For example, someone can do thinking and feeling, but they have a choice between one over the other. - 16 personalities are great, but the MBTI assessment has a dichotomy; the actual type indicator makes you choose one or the other, not a Likert scale. - you can disagree with the results and pick your ideal preference.
@khadhija75 жыл бұрын
What do you think about the cognitive functions??
@Nessabirdie5 жыл бұрын
Khadhija Walker for me, the cognitive functions of the MBTI tell more of a story than the individual parts. As an SF, I have the potential of burning out faster and my team is more important than the task. I also like looking at what does stresses look like. They are typically inverted of your type (which goes back to the argument that you can do both sides of the indicator’s spectrum).
@the_lucid_dreamer_07554 жыл бұрын
Hi, Aileen! Thank you for posting this video! I have also been interested in MBTI types for a while now! I'm an ISFJ, and I used to think I was an INFJ because I was a balance between intuitive and sensing. The way I figured out my personality type was through research. Apparently, the personality types all consist of functions that show how we intake information and make decisions! Learning about the functions really helps to know your exact type. It's important to note however that learning about your type doesn't mean that it defines your entire personality traits listed for that type. Like you said, it's a tool to understand yourself and others better! There is always room for growth! Thanks again for sharing! 😊

I took 16Personalities test probably 1.5 years ago and result was INFJ-T. But when I retook this test in January 2019 it said that I'm an INTP-T. So I did it after a half of year in July. I'm an INFJ-T again. It's very interesting how our answers can change over time!

@winter-wb7cf5 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Wagar I discovered a somewhat simple way to tell the difference. INTJs tend to seem colder on the outside but are caring/loving/emotional on the inside. They know their feelings. INFJs on the other hand seem warm and caring on the outside but in moments they should feel emotion they can be cold or empty. A lot of the time, they are absorbing emotion from others rather than producing their own like the INTJ. They don’t know what they feel or how to explain it often. Hope that helped you clear that up, but I suggest researching cognitive functions because that’s the way MBTI was intended to be used.

Infj here~ loved this vid, I also had been wondering if you've done a vid on mbti before. Also there are some counterarguments tho about the changing of one's mbti type. One of those is that some people claim that one's MBTI cannot change, it's probably because of a mistype as well as the questionnaire that you were using etc. However, I don't know the specifics of this perspective, so maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can explain it. I was ISFJ when I first took the test. But I retook the test again three times throughout the years and find that I'm still an INFJ. I also have some questions about this perspective. However, I do believe in what you say about how it's just a tool. We have to be careful of depending on it, which might keep ourselves from growing. If one would like to dig deeper, they might want to look into the cognitive functions of the type. It's a better way to know and understand ourselves better. For example, an INFJ has Introverted Intuition, Extraverted Feeling, Introverted Thinking, and Extroverted Sensing. The first function is kinda like one's strength or super power. For an INFJ, their weakness is the last function-extroverted sensing, which has a lot to do with focusing on the present. I think because you have developed your inferior function-extroverted sensing- through your constant meditation and self-improvement, you've become a more well-rounded INFJ? But also maybe you changed because you said that you were kinda in the middle of the P-J spectrum and you're like originally an INFP. These are just my theories or possibilities tho about the change of your type (lol infj here, I see possibilities 😅) I'm just spouting some things I've read and realized, but I don't have much facts to present 😅. But I do love how MBTI can help us see an overview of ourselves. When I read my results for INFJ, I felt understood and not alone (?). Before finding out I'm an infj, somehow I felt like I think differently from others, and think I'm weird or others are weird.but mbti taught me that others are not weird, they just see the world differently and live a different reality. And I'm not weird, it's just because of how I am. And knowing that there are other INFJs out there feels like I'm not alone in this reality :)
@lavendaire5 жыл бұрын
i've heard that theory too (about ppl being one type that cannot change) but i'm not sure i believe it! maybe i don't understand the cognitive functions deeply enough.

I tried typing you watching your videos based on cognitive functions because they're more reliable and you're definitely an INFJ. The reason you got INFP Or ENFJ some time in your life maybe because some of your cognitive functions developed over time. Our core mbti doesn't change and it's more accurate to rely on cognitive functions rather than four letters test. I love your videos so much and I'm so glad I found your channel.

Honestly one of my biggest pet-peeve in mbti (that happened to me) is confusing INFJ, and ISFP (me) they may be very similar in a way, but a big difference they have are INFJs are (like) social Introverts, they don't like being with other people and prefer 1-2 friends, while ISFPs are Restrained Introverts, they love to be with people unless they are use to those people, or use to a situation, that's why they are known to be confused as Extroverts. I may be an ISFP, but I'm still not use of talking to strangers, only ordering foods in restaurants.

ENTJ there, to me MBTI has helped me more to accept different mindsets that I used to view as flaws, rather than helping myself.

I've actually evolved from an INFJ to and ISFJ and now to an ISFJ-A! seriously obsessed with learning more about the personalities- they're all so so interesting! also loved this video, you got so detailed and in-depth but kept it simple enough to easily understand too 🤗❤️

personality type doesn't change. i guess, you should go deeper into history of the MBTI...

loopzoop you don’t understand mbti. The functions that determine the four letters can be developed but never changed. You can be an INFJ that favors thinking. You can be an INFP that favors sensing. That doesn’t make the INFJ have the introverted feeling and extroverted thinking of an INTJ. It doesn’t work like that. You can develop or become unhealthy, but you’ll always be you. The way you think is determined by the functions. That doesn’t change.

Hey... Same here! ENFJ are I guess a little more organized than ENFPs. For me since I became more organized and managed, my personality type changed to ENFJ

I'm an ENFP, and since I know the MBTI personnalities (thanks to you, there were months ago) and I'm literally obsessed by knowing which personality are people that I know

Always take the test from 6 to 6 months and I always mostly get INFP-A and sometimes ENFJ-T. It matches pretty well.

Micaela Ramos There’s a big difference actually! The test is a good starting point, but they can be completely inaccurate. INFP having fi as their primary function will prioritize how they feel, knowing exactly how they feel a majority of the time, and know their limits. They usually appear cold on the outside but are warm and emotional on the inside. On the other hand, ENFJs with fe as their primary function focus on what everyone else is feeling and tend to help others at their own expense. They will most likely be outwardly very warm and attract people with their open heart.
