Imma be honest, this deck just really feels like it was better made to go second Putting in more boardbreakers like Super Poly also means the removal effect of Shining Sarc is live more often, going second means there's more cards on the field for Gandora to destroy and whatever Gandora summons will get stronger as a result, making an OTK much easier.

It can go first too. It has a lot of negates. Silent Swordsman Zero counters hand traps like imperm and oddly has adjacent support to get Silent Swordsman LV7 out which is one of the few cards that can prevent super poly's activation.

@@zerdoyt2057 Simply. Take a look at Gandora-g or Shining Sarc. One makes you pay half your lp for a destruction effect that also summons, therefore it can be stopped by a simple ash. Shining sarcophagus has to discard a SPELL to basically put a monster back to the gy. This is all intentionally bad and malicious design. It's very double standrd in ygo, you have cards like this, turbo fair and full of limitations and then cards like Phantom of Yubel

I played this on the ex zero event in master duel, it felt like a deck that wouldnt work outside of other decks being unable to use their extra deck, but in that event it was fun.

I also tried to play it but stopped when I understood the deck (as the loaner at least) bricks like 60% of the times and that 40% you end with one Spell Negate and one Trap card. Read bricks as “you literally have nothing and pass on a free board”

@@tariqmcbroom6375 So your proof that the deck is good is: - The fact the duels he shows were won, despite saying he edited the vid to show off something at least watchable. This is why you don't listen to channels like TSX1, a video doesn't have to show the fifty losses, only the three wins. - You're using a loaner which means you were in the non-extra deck event, the one designed to make Shining Sarc stronger than other decks for the very fact you may wanna buy into it. - That you're winning a fair amount of games, which speaks more for your ranked matchmaking than the deck. If you're gonna make Shining Sarc for ranked, be warned that you're gonna lose a fair bit maybe starting around mid Platinum or a bit higher. It's gonna be better than other nostalgia decks like Dark Magician or Buster Blader but hopes should not be up.

So first off, Great video. I didn't think about using small world in this deck so that would be a great addition. I play this deck regularly and even did ok at a regionals. I didn't top due to not getting shining Sarc or the occasional bricking but it can hang with the Meta if maneuvered right and you don't brick. Since the regionals, I got the deck to a 92% non-brick rating going first and a 95% non-brick rating going second. The way I play the deck is almost always going second with board breakers in place of handtraps save imperm and shifter. the goal is to make number 100 Numeron dragon, which i'm surprised you didn't mention. This will always ensure a 9000 atk power otk win if number 97 is used to make it. in a nutshell, the deck does have a higher ceiling and has a surprise factor on your opponent since it has lower representation but has to be maneuvered extremely well. Also I can top locals with it.

I used the premade deck from the Extra Zero event, and the deck is so reliant on having Shining Sarc on the field that if you don’t open with/a way to access it, might as well surrender. I could see the deck having some potential, but it’s basically just Toons but with negates.

I have a lot of thoughts about this deck. It's not great, but it has a concept of a strategy. I think that the archetype is specifically designed as part of the 25th anniversary to appeal to yugiboomers. It doesn't use the extra deck, so the old heads don't have to really think about it, and it loses that as a barrier to entry. This also means that the player can just play from hand without having to think too far ahead much of the time. The other thought is that it works very slowly. That is, it has MULTIPLE cards that waste or blank a battle phase. This means that you're a lot more likely to get to a turn 3+ with this deck, where a huge complaint of yugiboomers is that duels are too short. This deck does a pretty good job at all of that, with the downside that that kind of thinking clearly doesn't work nowadays. I do think it'd've been a good starting deck for a new player... If they didn't rarity bump the hell out of it. For the deck itself, I really like the dogmatika package. There are a lot of interactions you can use from there, and a heavier package can actually disrupt opponents a lot. Punishment pop into ntiss pop is pretty good, packbit is very strong against some decks, and Garura is just more draw power. There's also a nemleria build floating around that looks spicy.

One other thing you didn't mention is that Future Silence can backfire if you use it to pump up a Silent Magician and DON'T end the game on the spot. I was playing against a Shining Sarcophagus deck with Amazoness, and they used Future Silence during the battle phase while I had 1 or 2 cards in hand. What I got was enough to sustain me through a battle of attrition. I ended up winning by crashing Amazoness Swordswoman into an over 6500 attack Silent Magician Zero. Also, Shining Sarcophagus decks seem to...struggle against battle-oriented decks if they can't pump up their silent LV monsters, although I might be speaking from personal bias given that almost every time I went up against a Shining Sarcophagus deck with Amazoness in Master Duel, I won. Also, do a Ten Minute Testing for Amazoness!

The shining sarc GY summon negate is based on the anime version of it, where in the anime, gold sarcophagus worked diferently. In there, you would put a card in the gold sarcophagus, and when your opponent uses the same card as you put in the gold sarcophagus, the effect would get negated. In the anime, Yugi puts monster reborn in the gold sarcophagus, so when Atem uses his own Monster reborn to revive Dark Magician, the effect was negated, giving Yugi the win.

I do like this deck in Master Duel. If you're comfortable with playing more than 40 cards, Toy Box synergizes surprisingly well. Drawing with Souls means you're not entirely reliant on Gadgets to do anything. Toy Soldier can grab the non-zero Silents to tribute over it or Souls for more spell negates or more copies of Toy Box to pitch for Sarc. Or nuke it all with Gandora to make a beeg Silent Magician and get to lethal. It would be nice if the DM applications were more interesting. Bond can sometimes matter for getting to lethal, but the search isn't so great. They actually future-proofed Dark Burning Magic, so you can't nuke your opponent's board again on their turn. I guess fairly consistent Dragoon access is alright.

Nah, you're using it wrong. This is a package you put in other decks. It fits really well into Gold Pride PUNK, and i'm sure you could find applications in other archetypes too. I just wish I was a better GP PUNK pilot, but being able to make Dawn Dragster when you don't have a line into Hope Harbinger Dragon is still good nonetheless. Plus Gandora is an additional, searchable level 8 that just special summons itself so long as you have sarc on your field (not to mention its also Dark Hole going second). It greatly expands your synchro and XYZ lines, and its overall a very good boss monster. The only downside is that this package functions as non-engine in the sence that there isnt really a way at the moment to search into this package. This might be true in other archetypes (maybe look into some machine archetypes to search or summon Gadget from deck), but not really in this deck. I just had to get really good at playing with the hand I was given since its functionally a good stuff deck like BASED.

I mostly agree, but I do think there’s a bit more OTK potential in-archetype than you’re giving it credit for. The issue is that it requires another potential brick (Stronghold) and for your opponent to have virtually no interaction (or else for you to have enough hand traps to survive).

Splash the Horus engine, it fixes the "reliant of going 2nd" critique and helps with providing support to the Shining Sarc. cards if you might not have what you need at the time.

It reminds me a lot of wave 1 Springans: if you didn’t open a path to the spell the strategy is built around, then every single monster in your hand is a vanilla.

Kash Fenrir is a one card starter in this deck. Add platinum gadget to your extra deck. Make it with Dracossacks’ tokens… Pop it with dracossack. To special Gadget Trio from deck. This way two level 7’s like the kash monsters become starters. Sometimes Without even consuming the normal summon

The first time I encountered this deck I was playing Unchained and had a bad hand (starting hand had both Rhino Warrior and the blue dog and no red dog), was going second and then I saw these cards and read them for the first time and was like: That is all? No, wait... srsly... that's it? I entirely annihilated it and left him with 3k LP, no cards on the field and hand. This deck would have been fine 5 years ago... maybe 4 if we feel generous.
