I just noticed the moment before Brok gives his blessing, all kelp and water debris in the background disappears and there's no movement in the water. Time itself stands still until he begins speaking. This either means Brok's blessing truly worked, or the mermaid stopped the elevator to bless it herself upon seeing Kratos kneeling "by himself" seemingly waiting for the blessing, while Brok thought he was the one blessing it. I'd imagine hearing the bottom of a metal godly spear smacking the elevator would bring attention back to her if that was the case. Regardless, neat details. I can't tell if time stopped due to Kratos kneeling for one of the only times, or from Brok gathering what's left of him to begin, or from the mermaid.

What's interesting is that in this scene (8:16), after the omega sign, it changed into the rune "Kenaz", now I'm not really an expert in runes but I remembered that if you look at it as a symbol there is meaning to it, and that there are different meanings when you flip it up, down or in reverse. (That's why you see runes in Freya's/Atreus' sigil arrows when they're inflicted upon enemies) When I saw the scene I got curious as to what that upwards rune meant for Kratos, and I searched up a meaning and I will quote what I found instead: "It advises to free oneself from the old prejudices that we disguise with excuses that we are used to using (“I am like that”, “I cannot change”, or “I cannot act differently”) and to accept the opportunities that life offers, taking advantage of them." This game is amazing. (Also thanks for reading this long speculation hehe)

If you recall, in GoW2018 there's a reference to Aesir learning Vanir temporal magic but discontinuing it when they find Skol and Hati don't freeze like the rest of time does, and in this game with Freyr being set on fire with Vanir magic shortly after being taught how to use it.
