Wayne Kramer

Wayne Kramer

Күн бұрын

At long last, watch Leni Sinclair's original Kick Out The Jams promo footage as the speed performed by the MC5. Wayne Kramer HQs has re-imagined Cary Loren's edited footage.
Shot at three separate incendiary performances - on location at Detroit's Grande Ballroom, The Village Pub in Birmingham, Michigan, and at the Delta Pop Festival in Delta College, Michigan - the result is a psychedelic revelation!

Well not the first but close by accident they sawed up at a broken down bowling alley in Peekskill NY after playing bit gigs like the Boston Tea Party etc. The Left Banke were the warm up. Tyner nearly apologized for the small show up, say 50 angry white panther type kids like me and maybe 200 black panther types!!! They proceeded to burn the *hithouse down. Exactly like the clip. June 14th 1969.

@@itjustlookslikethis Things were like that in 1969. They were basically extreme outcasts owing to the radical stance. It scare the s*it out of the older generation and even kids who were on the other side listening to top ten AM radio. The dividing lines were always there. I had seen other groups before June 1969, Steppenwolf, Delaney and Bonnie, LZ, Butterfield, Savoy Brown, the Who. But for me the 5 had pure punch, power, and radical energy unmatched at that time or anytime. Back in the USA was just released that week. We only had KouttheJams to go on. What a time.

One thing I really appreciate about the MC5 is that they re-claimed patriotism via their visuals (American flags, Wayne Kramer's guitar). They were just as much Americans as the Archie Bunker types they opposed. Good for them.

The spirit of rock n' roll Injected into the band: Tyner Screaming his lungs out, Wayne flying around the stage and fretboard like a marionett doll, Machine Gun Thompson hitting those drums with all he had, Fred Sonic hammering away those rhythm chords and Michael Davis keeping the bottom together. I saw MC5 mid summer of 69 and mid summer of 70. This vid doesn't even come within a light year of doing them justice. And, IMHO, the albums didn't either. They were a band that you had to see live. They were so incredibly powerful and tight. And they were dark, and dirty, and greasy, almost sinister. But man, could they play. The only video I've seen that can give you an inkling of what they were like is the Wayne State Tartar Field video. And sadly. that's about it.

Dear Mr. Kramer, I am a music enthusiast from the Deep South of Japan. I had long been watching this same footage. I have even supposed that some moments are able to be lip synchronized. This means that the original performance of “Kick out the Jams” might be reconstructed. Today, this posting is by far the best and watchable version of this legendary performances from 1968. Well, however, I can notice that some moments on this footages are omitted, and the entire result is not lip synchronized. I want you to re-research and salvage your vault, and reconstruct lip synchronized version, not only the song “Kick out the Jams” , but also other songs.
