Let's be real, if a person that knowing he is in the country undocumented commits a crime, he should be deported. I have witness friends that they know what can happened they still drink and drive without a drivers license ...seriously I am not against undocumented people, I have friends, very hard working people, but I'm not happy with drunk drivers.

I understand we're you're coming from and I agree felony migrants should be deported, but the problem is that LRA essentially scraps habeas corpus for migrants. I.e. guilty until proven innocent. They should only be subject to deportation if they're CONVICTED NOT CHARGED

I think that, if somone gets convicted of dwi twice it should result in automatic deportation. The first time they should be mandated to take alcohol anonymous for at least 15years. And pay fine of $1000. The innocent shouldn’t get punished though simple traffic violation, should not be grounds for automatic deportation, everyone makes mistakes, but dwi isnt a mistake its preventable. Im daca recipent and this bill will probably ruin my life, even though i have no criminal record no drinking habits no smoking habits, but for the bad deeds of others we all pay the price unfortunately

Really as an immigrant being in the states for more than 2 decades I’m a citizen since 12 years ago but I have never committed a crime not even a misdemeanor. All I know is working hard keep to myself and take care of my family. That should be the case for everyone whether you are legal or not. Period!

laws have to be constitutional though. DHS has the tendency to overreach and be over broad. I agree with you entirely but the system must be fair and afford due process if your not a national security risk or a public safety risk meaning violent or aggravated crime where injury or protentional corporal injury to someone. Not deporting a legal person who allegedly committed a crime 20 years ago

This is nothing but immigration ambulance chasing, selling nothing but very expensive false hope. The best thing an individual can do who is here without authorization is to sell what is not important, pack what is, and cross into Mexico to restart the immigration process legally. If one waits until they are deported, they will lose everything but the clothes on their back and will receive a minimum 10 year ban on reentry. Don’t throw your money or dreams away following bad advice from people only looking for a big payday at your expense.

This law mandates the federal detention of illegal immigrants who are accused of theft, burglary, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and any crime that causes death or serious bodily injury. A statement from Secretary Noem on the signing of the bill is below: “Thank you, President Trump, for signing the Laken Riley Act. This law restores commonsense to our broken immigration system. Under President Trump, violent criminals and vicious gang members will no longer be released into American communities.” The Laken Riley Act is named after a Georgia nursing student who was killed by a Venezuelan alien who was previously arrested and paroled into the U.S. under the previous administration.

Visa overstays can have serious consequences on a person’s future immigration opportunities and may result in deportation, long-term bans, or difficulties securing future U.S. visas. Regarding the Tennessee Bil SB 6002, you do realize that Permanent Residents Immigrant status is not the same as US Citizenship. Permanent Residents can not vote only citizens can. Regarding sanctuary cities, these are cities that provide safe harbor to illegal immigrants or undocumented. Both are considered criminals. Hence sanctuary cities help to break the rule of law. So, if you are an official who adopts sanctuary policies, legally you are aiding and abetting criminals. Thus you are also committing a crime. Is this what we want from officials?

ACD? Has it been over a year? You are saying the charges were dismissed. That dismissal was a ruling of the court you should be good to go.

ACD: Adjourned Contemplating to Dismissal. This case will be dismissed and sealed depending how long you were given: it's usually six months to a year. To be sure, go to the court and ask for official dismissal of the case. In short, you will not be affected by immigration. However, you need to stay clean and get out of future trouble.

I have been a Canadian citizen since 2009 and obtained a U.S. green card in 2017 through my then-spouse, a U.S. citizen. The green card is valid until 2027, but my divorce was finalized in 2018. From 2019 to 2023, I did not travel to the U.S., primarily due to COVID-19 restrictions and my employment with U.S. aerospace and defense firm, where I have been working in Canada since 2019. Given this situation, I am uncertain about the current validity of my green card and whether it is possible to reinstate it if it is no longer valid. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the matter and the steps I might need to take.

It is tough to consider the fact that a lifeguard is actually a paid employee and imagine a lifeguard simply quitting or striking their job because of pay concerns. I mean they are saving lives. Seems like the compassion for that divine work would mean more than a paycheck. Foresight says: if one follows politics in America and witnessed Donald Trump's first presidential victory it would not be too farfetched to expect that (1) the likelihood of Donald Trump winning a second term was high. Especially after the way Biden totally open the border. Millions of people crossed and to be honest (2) once Governor Greg Abbott decided he was playing chess not checkers and went right on to dropping as many illegals right on into sanctuary cities as they could carry. It did not even require and imagination to know immigration was going to be a pivotal issue. Irony also lies with the unprepared illegal immigrant. Attorneys are doing what attorney's do. At least this one is claiming Christianity. Not the same as Holiness but, it is something.

The green card process can be started by the employer and is independent of current nonimmigrant visa status. It is initiated through the filing of a PERM application and upon certification by the Department of Labor an immigrant petition is filed with the USCIS in the EB2 or EB3 category and when a visa is available (or priority date current) the last step (adjustment of status) of the green card process is filed. Your current immigration attorney will flesh out the details. The employer must be fully supportive. The whole process can take less than two years, or it can take more than 10 depending on country of birth.
