Sure you can. You can also choose to recognize Tobias Forge for the greedy, back stabbing traitor that he is. The lawsuit spelled that out pretty clearly. I'll listen to Ghost, insofar as its Ghost with Martin Persner, who was the soul of the band.

@@kyliec0yote Basically, from what I've gathered, Tobias pays them to come up with the music, he preforms the vocals, and Martin wanted more, Tobias told him it wasn't a possibility, and Martin sued him for "stealing." It makes no sense

Just caught this while cruising through random autoplays. What a find. After some googling it's apparent the song is about the singer's OCD. An honest voice singing about an on-going, unending battle. I guess that's what makes this song so powerful.

I've been living with it all my life, in relation to Autistic Spectrum Disorder that was undiagnosed until a couple of years ago. The acuity with which Martin's able to describe the experience makes me want to reach out and give that big man an equally big hug. Some of us have had such suffering to live with, and we all need to reach out to each other when we can.

Martin. I never knew. You live with these demons. You have a tender heart. You have a "legion" of fans that support you and will follow wherever you go. When Ghost let you go, the heart of the band was torn out in my opinion. You were the best part of that band. This music is the best. Claudio the video is excellent. You are good at what you do!

Honestly, I love MCC. My boyfriend once showed them to me and I love them from the very first note I heard. I didn't know this guy was a part of Ghost until AFTER I discovered MCC, which is great because that way I listened to them without comparing. That being said, he took with him the sound of many Ghost compositions so I don't know where they'll be going from here. But MCC is an amazing band and that's what we should be discussing here. All my support to them!!

Xilema Garcia this song was actually released the morning after my darkest day with depression, in which I completely lost control. I don't really believe in signs as such, but it was an amazing coincidence. the song describes perfectly what I feel (my 'demon' anxiety and depression), and it's helped me move on so much in the past couple weeks. yet another reason I've always loved this band - Martin really well and truly understands how mental conditions work.

So many people discussing ghost, so few discussing what this song is actually about. Lyrically, it seemed a little hamfisted at first, but once I realized what it's about I fell in love. it seems to be about a man tormented by demons ("what have I done to begin with, to always be bargaining with fear? I don't even know what your name is, it's odd 'cause you've always been here") pleading with their leader to let him go free ("please, let go of me. please, I've paid. please find someone else but me",) after which he realizes he's becoming the demon's leader ("join us forever, or live in despair, it seems like I'm changing, becoming your heir") and the outro is him accepting his status ("so hand me your kingdom, I'll take it from here") and then adorning the mask of the thing he sought to escape ("and dare no one break from my circles of fear") I could be totally off the mark but it feels like a lyrical masterpiece to me, even though it's using a very standard lyrical structure.

After listening to both Ghost and MCC I've started to wonder about vocals in both bands. Tobias sounds like he has two or three background voices singing with him in Ghost (Layered vocals). Martin's voice sounds similar to these background voices, and Tobias' voice for that matter. I wonder if the Nameless Ghoul masks had microphones in them and if they did the backing vocals for Papa rather than the lead vocals being ran through a vocoder. I could be totally wrong.....Just a thought.
@pipschannel1222
@pipschannel1222 Жыл бұрын
I like your idea but on Ghost's earlier recordings and live performances it's all Tobias' vocals layered. They would play the second and third vocals parts from a recording when playing live (they always use click tracks to sync everything up). On later albums/studio recordings the background vocals are Tobias' as well as the nameless ghouls/ghoulettes. From the point when Tobias hired Swiss Army/Multi-Ghoul and the Ghoulettes they actually started performing all vocal parts live, which is from the Prequelle era and onwards. I really like the "all live vocals" construction way better than the pre recorded vocals.. It sounds amazing! Very arena rock-ish! Like being hit by a wall of sound! :-)

There are no words to describe how happy it makes me to hear a completely new MCC song after so many years. I was so afraid there would never be any more. I suffer from an extreme anxiety disorder, and MCC is one of the things that has calmed me down and soothed me on many horrible days. (I actually mentioned that to M. a couple of times after shows - how incredibly hard it was for me to even leave my house, let alone make it to a show.) When I have to go anywhere, MCC is one of the things I play in my car and it makes me feel like, "Okay, everything's going to be all right. I can do this..." It's like coming home to a place where I'm totally safe and warm. Just a couple of chords and I swear I physically feel my blood pressure and heart rate drop and I'm calm. And there will be more! That makes me so happy!

I'm the same as you. Writing here a year after your comment to let you know you're not alone. I also have extreme anxiety and have trouble leaving the house. If I absolutely have to, MCC has been playing in my ears for the past few years (before the whole horrible lawsuit and all - I found MCC ages ago once I sorted out who was in Ghost, and after that always preferred MCC). MCC is vital , helps me be in another place in my head, and when I found out Martin was coming out with new MCC it was amazing. Looking forward to more, and hoping that YOU'RE feeling loads better now a year later. :)

I'll always love Ghost, but MCC is and now will always be along side my favorite modern bands.

This is amazing. IMO their most moving song. I understand Anxiety. Have had it for over 40 years. Please feel free to use masks in MCC if it means we get to see you guys live. I will always support this band. And sadly i no longer feel connected to Ghost. Guess im oldschool that way.
