@@FanaticDrummer Eh, I think you're selling the musicianship of the new ghouls way short. New Ghost album has great melodies, insanely good bass lines, and great tones all around. They're literally cut from the same cloth, musically and sonically.

@@The_CadaverWell there is a massive difference in band format vs one man show. The Ghouls are awesome, and im sure theres no grudges between Martin and them as they’re just hired as session players ultimately. Its not their band or decision. Tobias I think genuinely short handed the original Ghouls and he could have gave them ANYTHING as compensation in good faith of preserving the core sound. Its a classic case of live and learn the hard way. The current drummer and new guitarist are great. But dont forget, they dont fully write the songs anymore. Its pretty much all Tobias and it kinda shows in how theres 2 good songs on an entire album vs a whole album being hit after hit like previous ones. The band sound kept it fresh and consistent letting Papa do his thing. Now he’s stretched all over the place and sometimes the songs feel formulaic and not priority except for the purpose of have a few singles. I still love Ghost, but old Ghost is vastly superior in its melody catchiness.

If I'm doing something more involved or letting an album play, then I''ll listen to the deep cuts, or more deliberate stuff, like MCC. I like that they split off into two distinct musical entities. The early minimalist prog-doom stuff is cool, but a straight discography of it would make me lose interest. And MCC pumping out fresh music is pretty nice too. Really hope Martin and Tobias find a way to make music together again some day. But until then, I'm gonna just enjoy the fruits of their creativity like the good little consumer I am.

This is a big part of the sound that made me a fan of ghost. This is great on its own but I’m tired of musicians emotions getting in the way of art. I know it’s been that way forever but Ghost had so much talent in one place the music from years ago was absolutely magical. I really like the direction; if it’s a preview of where MCC is taking their sound. It’s bigger and more dynamic. The video captures the song very well and delivers a creativity that is such a good blend between Claudio and MCC.
