McCall's 7950 // DIY Dress Sewing Tutorial

Watch as I sew a lovely dress (link below) with a flattering lined bodice, full skirt, buttoned center, and tied shoulder straps.
I made this dress twice, sewing View C and, in this video, View D. The only difference between the two views are the shoulder strap and the pockets. These are minor differences, so you can use this video for all the main steps for either look.
I'll show you how I've constructed this dress from start to finish.
The recommended fabrics for this pattern are medium weight knits such as linen and light denim. I have chosen 100% cotton for the gray dress and a light rayon for the peachy dress.
This tutorial is intended to make your sewing journey a little easier, with comprehensive instructions, serving as a solo guide or in addition to the written instructions.

This is an older video, but recently I’ve been showing footage of me wearing the items. 😀 as far at what it feels like, the gray linen is a heavier weight material, but it’s smooth and comfortable. The peach print material is a polyester - lightweight and has a flowy-er feel.

I have a nearly finished McCall m 5318. I lost the instructions and couldn't figure out why I attached the bottom lining but not the top to it and seeing this I understand now that it was to hide the sewn skirt pieces underneath it. Thank you so much! I was almost about to take it apart.
