Amazing that there was a time when this calibre of music was actually shown on television. Nothing like this is ever aired today.

I discovered this era of Tyner, Fortune and Mouzon when I DJ'd at my college radio station (KSMC). I had always been a jazz fan, but this music from McCoy Tyner showed me that jazz towered above the best progressive rock artists of the 1960s and 70s and the distance was not even close.

So bloody modern, extraordinay music performed by exraordinary musicians. It leaves me astonished that in 1971 the public is still all black !

R.I.P. McCoy Tyner - you are one of a kind. Ever since I started listening to Coltrane, it was your playing that captivated me the most.

This is the group that led to my immersion in "jazz music" back in 1971. Beautiful, soulful, deep & fiery.MCCoy, Sonny, Alphonse & Calvin Hill.

RIP, McCoy. You were the perfect balance to fusion, and pretty much the end of my listening to rock. Intense, and yet, acoustic. Demanding. You gave your drummers such a work out. I always liked that.

Man, love those Psychedelic colors, lighting, clothes and of course the great music. Alphose Mouzon's groove/swing driving this joint to the next level, bass player Calvin Hill great too and Sonny and McCoy soaring over it all.

This is some of the most artistic music i have ever heard, Alphonse Mouson's Drumming is second too none, combined with Tyner this band is on the level of Weather Report and Brand X and Mahavishnu.. Four Exceptional musicians..!
