Ain't it something the garbage they sell as MU SICK has turned into when we all floated thru this

The depth and complexity of McCoy's ideas is simply unbelievable, not to mention the sheer virtuosity required to play those lines. Moments like 15:49, 17:50, and so many others defy words and comprehension. McCoy Tyner is a genius of the highest order.

I remember when the live album was first released. It blew me away. I was an aspiring guitarist and thinking to myself "how the hell do I do this on guitar?" Well, I'm still trying to figure it out. Lol. McCoy has always been ahead of the curve. This music is timeless.

I think the reason why Azar was underrated is that he once was a member of Earth, Wind and Fire. Then he was indulged in black contemporary music.

McCoy has been and always will be my all-time favorite jazz pianist. My listening perspective comes initially from the classical realm, but love preference for piano virtuosity lies most strongly in the limitless heavens of jazz. Though I may be a proficient classical pianist, I am Always astounded by McCoy, no one else remotely approaches his depth, sensitivity, speed and spirit...McCoy is a blessing to us all...

The ferocious and musically aggressive drumming played by the great Alphonse Mouzon is nothing but extraordinary adding well placed accents, a myriad of creative sticking patterns and massive percussive textures to shape and form McCoy's progressive keyboard performances into the incredible pieces of music that they are. In1973, Alphonse would have been 25 years old and playing far beyond his years. Collectively, they make for a powerhouse of Jazz.

These guys are what jazz is all about. Mouzon kicks ass, always. Great soprano by Azar, wonderful solo. Juini totally underrated, yet a really good bassist, fat, mellow sound. And McCoy...just, wow. Watch those fingers. This song gives me goosebumps...

There will never be another McCoy Tyner. The power and depth of sound he created during his youth cannot be equaled.

Awesome music! McCoy is the greatest jazz pianist ever in my book. I love many others but they don't have the power and finesse of Tyner. In Coltranes's words he has "taste."

My word! Such a wonderful track. I have the album of which I brought, long after it was released. Heard it on the radio as 15 yr old and his playing just blew me away. Have many of his albums since that track. My all time favourite Pianist. Many a wonderful player, but he is my first, my favourite!

You echoed my thoughts totally! I had the original Enlightenment lp many years ago, but never in my dreams could I have imagined seeing this video, a near match. First time I saw him live was in Evanston, Illinois in 1975, but never could get enough!

...I use to set up like that. The Eric Gravatt perpendicular cymbals thang. I had a great sounding 22" K-Zildjian and a sizzle 20" A-Zildjian. But I had sold them by the time I got to play with Juini !
