I actually enjoy hearing xQc and his guests talk about their jobs. I've always wanted to stream or do some sort of content creation, but at some point I just decided to go for the "career". I've been in Software Engineering for about 2 years now after graduating for computer science, and It's pretty depressing ngl. I've worked for 3 different companies, and the "company culture" cringe shit is so habilitating I regret choosing this career at this point. I've always been fascinated with computers and programming as a whole, but making this my career has ruined the hobby for me. And the worst is that they expect me to go out to company get togethers after working a full days shift.. like bro I just wanna game.. but I look bad for not going.

@mezorno18872 жыл бұрын
@@sonicandm I am fully remote, but my company is within my city lol. I've advocated my reasons for not wanting to go to meetups, but I still feel like I'm being secretly judged lol. I'm looking more into doing my own thing now. I'm just hoping to save enough money over the next few months to keep me good for a year while I can focus on my side projects. Always wanted to do indie game dev but never stepped into any projects larger than a game jam or a weekend project.

Don't get me wrong, this job looks terrible, but at least it looks like you stay pretty busy. I worked at a gas station where there was always nothing to do, and so they made us do random gross stuff and we weren't allowed on our phones or anything. We also didn't get breaks and weren't allowed to sit down... which is why I ended up quitting. Not going to damage my body to make $10 an hour. When I quit I just texted my boss that morning that I was quitting and I was sorry - and then I threw my phone under my bed and ignored it for a few days. Quitting that job was one of the best feelings ever. This has been my TED talk.

McDonald’s is trash because it’s a job where you actually work the entire day. Most jobs you do maybe 4 hours of actual work and the rest is just doing nothing or just talking to other coworkers. For that small pay it ain’t worth it, a small shop with barely any customers pay the same but with much less work. I’d rather stand as a cashier in a book store than hearing that ringing noise the entire day
