The Bat DID appear in the released film, although it only looked like a normal flying bat in Bruce's nightmares lol. What that was cut was the climax were the Bat would come face to face with Bruce, where you could see its actual huge size.

In the deleted scene he's flying in place right in front of Batman, also technically you can still see the Nightmare bat through out the movie, most prominently when Riddler is reading Bruce Wayne's mind.

When I first saw the giant bat BAF I was hopeful it would redeem the closed-wings Man-Bat but it seems it would require quite a bit of destruction to get it working.

If you’re wondering if the wings fit onto the McFarlane man Bat mega figure the answer is a big fat no Well, they do fit inside the joint. They are so much smaller. There is a giant gap and it looks awful.

Yeah the bat was flying upright towards him and just flapping its wings until they pan around it in a still shot. It's an ok version but the wings aren't accurate at all to that scene of the bat. Seeing that scene get cut is a shame though because it added much needed context to the backstory.

Bruce was telling his story to the doctor and the same bat appeared. Seem that the bat was edited into that scene. I think that scene was better. Seeing a little bit of the bat made it look like a real bat.

@@boeingnz The deleted scene starts with him having amnesia after the shot to the head by Two Face and not remembering why he became Batman in the first place. The context I mentioned that was missing was more about his father's diary that was shown earlier in the movie and him finding out that it wasn't his fault at all that his parents decided anyway to go see Zorro. I thought that whole scene from the diary to the bat and then proclaiming that he is Batman could've been a nice closure to that subplot.
