Stumbled across your channel for the first time in maybe 15 years, your videos were a part of my childhood Les, your work is unparalleled.

Incredibly honored! I think I remember your unique name! Glad to see you again! It's been a long, hard road since the days of old. Went through a lot of dark times. But, I try to do work through videos that helps others cobble the figures they want. At least I can offer that in the time I still have as an active artist!

Excellent repaint, Les! You've really leveled this guy up!

Many thanks! I enjoyed this one a lot, since I spent about two months making a custom 1/6 figure a year or two ago. Didn't even bother buying the Hot Toys one. But thanks. These McFarlanes are like a customer's dream!

@@LesWalker2023 Oh wow, is the 1/6 on the channel? I'll go digging, if so!

Excellent custom, I'm also investing in a tripod at some point to remove the Charlie Drakes from my custom action figure shorts

Nice job Les. This suit is a weird one in that it looks different under different lighting. It's dark blue when he's in Nygma's HQ but silver-y gun metal when he's in the Batcave in front of the Batboat. I think you've really captured that colour from the Batcave. Completely agree, McFarlane knocked these Schumacher figures out of the park.

Agreed. The sets seem to light it, but I have to pick a neutral color, so this seems to work best. Did it twice now! lol! It sort of brings this one to a place the others don't go, so I prefer it. I just know that plastic color was awful to me. Had the Clooney been that color it would have been better, but even then, bad shade of blue. Anyway, could be debated forever I guess. I appreciate your comments though, as you do know your stuff! Thanks so much! I know you are loving all this! It is wonderful!

Can I please pay you to do a repaint for me> I repainted my Black Adam and it came out amazing but I'm not skilled enough to pull off that amazing Kilmer custom. Serious inquiry,

I appreciate that more than you know. However, I'm unable to take on commissions at this time. Do trust this, the Vallejo acrylic color I used, "Oily Steel", is easy to hand apply. If you heat the figure and pop it apart, and paint the parts this one color, then spray them with Mr Hobby Mr Super Clear matt, let them set, and put the figure back together, this will do more than you can imagine. Detail the belt with silver and then add a thin layer of Intermediate Gauzy Agent to the belt and chest bat and arm blades, and you will be satisfied I assure you! Best of luck! 😉👍

I used a Rustolum High Heat semi Silver. The result looks brighter than the cap. Anyway to tone it down?
@LesWalker20232 ай бұрын
Not sure...I only use water based acrylic paints, Vallejo brand, (Hobby paint) that I apply by hand, so I can control it. Any spray on this plastic, may not adhere well... or cure properly. As for the color, be careful of any silver, as that is really bright. I use Vallejo Oily Steel (number 70.865) and it is almost perfect. I actually add flat back, like 10%? black, to tone down the reflectivity, and brightness. So, I would coat what you have painted, provided it adheres, with a layer of darkened Oily Steel. Then, IMPORTANT, spray with Mr Hobby Mr Super Clear Matt spray, available online or in most hobby shops. Best I can tell you. Best of luck! Show me your result when you can.

looks sweet but i think the color is more darker then metallic black

Hey, it's a tough color base to get just right. I used movie stills to try to get it, but it is a little subjective. Thanks for the comment!

May sound odd but I don’t like it when they make the Batman look like the actor who acted the role. I prefer the figures to look like Bruce Wayne should.
@LesWalker2023 Жыл бұрын
You know, I can kind of get that. In these cases, making them resemble the actors is part of what satisfies most collectors. However, I get your point. Maybe that is why I have so many of the comics related figures, since they are for sure doing the way Bruce Wayne should look in each case. Interesting comment! Thanks for sharing!

@@LesWalker2023 I flat out replaced the Klooney head. Going to get rid of the nipples too once I figure out how to not leave tool marks in the process. I don’t care for klooney, honestly… I don’t care for most of Hollywood. The only actors who played Batman in recent times that isn’t a flat out skin crawling creep is Keaton and the jury is still out on Patterson. Grabbed a purple “Zur-en-argh” Batman head for 5 dollars on eBay and repainted it black and gave it a satin finished clear coat and Klooney no more. When I look at Batman I want to think of Batman, not someone whose proclivities would get them beaten to a bloody pulp BY the Batman.
@LesWalker2023 Жыл бұрын
I love a heartfelt fan! Actually, my favorite movie Bat is Keaton also. On the nipples thing, try trimming very carefully with a very sharp X-acto knife, just the jutting out parts, and then softly sand the areas with a VERY FINE sanding pad. Really fine. And take your time. It almost buffs it right out. You may end up soft sanding the entire pec to get it all to match, but that will remove the soft plastic without too much damage. @@ScottAT

@@LesWalker2023 hmm. Maybe 1600 grit sandpaper or a micromesh kit after.

@@LesWalker2023 I think my favorite might just become Patterson if they don’t ruin the next movie, but that aside the actors ….. Klooney, Bale, Kilmer, the fact that there just rotten people in real life is what ruins it for me.
