Perfect. I’m slowly getting into fly tying but needed to find a good supplier. Big fan of your videos, and I like the underwater footage you share. Thanks again!

@@McFlyAngler so I ordered supplies from both Risen and Dooley this afternoon. And less than 3 hours later they’re already packaged with a tracking number. I’ve never had a product prepared for deliver this fast. Very good recommendations man.

Yeah both great companies! I’m picky with who I work with, and have canceled deals with other companies due to their customer service issues. But both of these companies have always had great service for my subs. I’m happy to have them.

I tied several of these as my first fly as I mainly fly-fish for bream at my local stock tanks and creeks. Very simple for a beginner.
@McFlyAngler3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is, also very effective. A great little pattern for sunnies. One of my favorites. Also super durable when tied right.

Love tying these, one of the first flies I learned on that actually caught fish lol, I like using a small splitshot instead of lead wire, makes an even bump and saves on wire.
@McFlyAngler2 жыл бұрын
Good idea on tbe split shot. I’ll have to give that a try.

I have so many of these, lol. When I first started tying this was one of my go to patterns. They do work well though, especially in Spring.

Yes they do, and yes, the perfect beginner pattern

I like this fly a lot. I’m targeting warm water species more and more. Bluegill, perch and sunfish are prevalent here and this would be a good general purpose pattern. Thanks for the interesting tying tutorial.
@McFlyAngler3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah its easy and quick and effective. Great for sunfish, and even bass! Ive caught some nice bass on this fly as well, even a catfish. I have had friends catch carp and even trout on it. Its a good pattern no question. How are you doing Bob?

I love bully bluegills! I usually use curved hooks.
@McFlyAngler3 жыл бұрын
Oh cool, I’ve never used the curved hook for this fly, sounds like it would give it an interesting action. You mean something like the 200r?

Hello. Can you make a video on how to cast a 3/4 wt? I do okay on my 5 wt and 8 wt but I’m way worse on my 3/4 wt. I sure wish you were back to tying and selling flies again. TY
@McFlyAnglerАй бұрын
I’ll look into it. Honestly it’s the same as casting a full weight but there might be some reasons why you find more difficulty. I can try to explain in a video at one point but I’ll need a few weeks or months to do a video like that

Is it possible for you to make saltwater Mud minnow or needle fish fly?
@McFlyAngler3 жыл бұрын
Sure I can look into it. Might actually have plans on a needlefish fly soon as I just got a 10wt and want some flies for some bigger Bluewater species in the gulf.
