I remember mother rendering lard when a pig was butchered. It has quite a strong smell rendering down if I remember correctly. Lard, camp dog, and the critter of the day equals mealtime, lol. Thanks for the show Brother. I enjoyed it as always! You folks have a good day.

I do a lot of cooking with lard from my pigs these days. Make soap with it too. A coworker of mine gave me some TN bear lard (grease) and it’s amazing. I sure would like to get to hunting some TN bear.

I rendered lard and tallow for the first time myself this year; after learning how bad processed seed oils (commonly known as vegetable oil) are for you. I was told it needed to be pressure canned, but I’m going to flip my jars next time. That’s how they did it growing up. Definitely would be easier and save me a lot of time. 👍🏽

We render lard and also beef tallow. Always use lard for pastry. Beef is great for frying. Never problems when I use my cast iron. Have a great day and God bless 💞

Can you please put me on your prayer list I’m in the Hershey Medical Center right now I had an infection in my knee replacement and this made for 11 surgeries on my knee and if it ever gets infected again, the doctor told me straight up it’ll be amputation from the top of the knee down so I pray that I’ll fall on it or anything like that so I could heal and pray that the infection drives us evil infection out of me.
