Using and making do with what I have is the motto on my farmstead. I inherited my grandfather’s belt driven stationary hammer mill and man it’s has been worth its weight in pure 24k gold for over 50 years now. I grind everything from cob corn to alfalfa hay. Besides being barn kept, I believe it has lasted this long because it doesn’t have gearboxes as such. Far from new and doesn’t grind efficiently like a new one but it is what I have, so I’ll keep rolling with it.

That’s exactly the right thing to do! It’s what I’m going to do here as well!!! I feel very fortunate to have it and I’m so grateful to my pastor for giving it to me!

That was truly a blessing Brother Micah. Kudos to your Pastor. I know if I could talk to my grandfather one more time, I believe I’d simply tell him, “thank you” for everything he gave me, instilled in me and left me. I can hear him now, “son use what God has already given you and He’ll bless you with more”.

I'm glad all you guys had to do was take off the chute and it still works . My grandpa would mix water with his ground feed to feed his hogs . This cold weather is not helping any fattening up those cows lol . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !

You are lucky to have such smart sons. They obviously have great mechanical minds and understand farm machinery. Perhaps you need to get them a welder, not sure how you would run it without a powerful generator or mains electricity. A problem for you and them to solve unless your neighbours can rescue you. Another Interesting video, your content has great variety, thanks.
