Helpful link to the correct spool! I just couldn't get on with winding the wire myself and it just kept breaking and disssapearing back through the holes 🤦

It can be tricky. Try pulling excess wire through the hole then tying it in a knot. This will stop it going back through the hole. Hopefully this will do the trick!

Yes, thank you! Hardest part for me was that I've bought the spool only, without that orange bit so I needed to rewire the whole thing. Spool is £2, whole replacement bit is £9 and runs out quickly, so I didn't want to spend a lot 😂

Ahhh okay, do you just wind it on tightly? I might do the same next time if it’s cheaper.

@OtherBuys Yep then through the holes. I mean, the whole trimmer was £30 on sale so buying the spool for £9 is just annoying lol

Is this before or after you’ve fitted the spool. It should unravel a bit whilst spinning so you have enough spool. If it’s unravelling too fast try taking it off and winding it tight or using another spool.

I couldn’t get the new spool to auto feed, it just didn’t wanna do it. When the spool is in, does it need to be clipped into the little orange grooves? I tried it anyway, and without clipping, but it didn’t come out still and I had to keep manually winding it out. Pls can you do another video on this which is a little more clearer, step by step? I appreciate you probably don’t have the time though.

Don’t clip it onto the orange clips once it’s in. It need to be unclipped. It may not be auto feeding as the spool is stuck due to the way it’s wound. Try unwinding a bit to see if it’s caught. Otherwise, put a new spool in and see if that help. I’ll try and do a new video in a few weeks :)

Jesus Christ there must be something wrong with my strimmer. I was already doing what this video shows but my strimmer cuts about 5 blades of grass before the line retracts back in to the spool. I tried winding the line the other way around the spool but that didn't work either. Im about to take this piece of junk down the recycling centre 😢

That’s odd. I haven’t had this happen to mine. Have you tried using a completely new strimmer spool and insert?

Try reseating it or using a different spool. You’re not hitting hard surfaces whilst using it like stones or fences? Also if the grass is really long, strim it in stages, not straight from the bottom. Hopefully this helps!
