I like how you are learning about architecture and sharing as you learn. You may have been referring to dormers, the windows that come out of the roof. That was often where servants lived, as the roof cuts interfered with the height of the ceilings, and the dormers brought in extra light and headroom. Cobblestones are a paving feature unto themselves. You'd be surprised how much effort is involved in putting in a cobblestone road/sidewalk/path. The fountains along the sides of the house in the back could have been watering troughs for pets and/or horses. I love this stuff!

Gorgeous this place is gorgeous too bad a college uses it as part of the campus. All the details wow I love the screen metal doors at the entrance so ornate. Its humongous and would be cool to see it abandoned or at least prior to restoration. Thank you for a terrific treat this mansion is really amazing!!!! I really appreciate the history behind the home I can’t imagine one family living in it. People were so small ages ago and this house was so huge they must have looked minuscule. The gardens were still incredible and remind me of Filoli here in California. It’s the mansion used in so many movies and 80 tv show Dynasty it is tiny compared to this mansion but the gardens are so beautiful I go again and again. Thanks again!!

What a huge house ! I love the formal gardens , so pretty ! Lots of room AC units because a house built in 1928 didn't have central air conditioning. The orangery is the room with those beautiful palladian windows with the fountain in front of it. The house is French- Norman style and designed by Wiiling, Sims & Talbutt architects. Such a grand home !

Nice ! The circular edges are turrets i believe. Glad the mansion is so nicely maintained for its age and moist area conditions. I do wish you'd have zoomed in on the balcony above the two sentry stone dogs...there appears to be two gargoyle type rock statues ( cats ? ) and centered a red " something " little statue on the railing of above balcony. ....as for the video, thank you...way cool !
