Having a chase car behind the 12C on track with a narrow lens = BIG WIN! Keep it up Chris.

This video really gives an idea of how fast this car is without any quick editing or close to the ground shots. Great job Chris.

i love how brutally honest chris harris is about the cars he drives. although i almost never have the money to buy any of the cars that he drives, the reviews are much more comprehensive, i think, than any other place on the internet

There some people who might dont like your videos.13 of them. All the others we love your videos, your driving skills and your reviews every week. Thank you Chris for your home movie !!!!

I think the big smile on his face is the most informing thing about the review, forget how fast and agile it is, when it puts a smile on your face like that, it's worth every penny. Now if only i had enough pennies....

Another great review, CH! Again you tempt me with the MP4-12C. Again you leave me wondering whether, as you state, to love the car or resent it -- for it's electronic cleverness. Decisions, decisions; guess it's good to have mostly First World dilemmas like these...

I saw a 12C coupé at Nordschleife last friday, so while most of the people who can buy this car will buy it because they can and because they can show off with their expensive car, sometimes people actually buy an expensive supercar to use it for what it's built. Aston on the other hand is a brand I don't expect to see at a circuit and yet there was a V8 vantage flying around the ring that same friday!

If guys complaining about the quality of the video, you can notice the credits at the end of the video, written; presenting; shoot and editing all by chris himself, so let's be honest.. he's a car man, not a camera man...

YEAH!!! only chris harris can drift a 12c, nice video as always
@quackman12 жыл бұрын
I liked the way this was shot, actually. Obviously it doesn't look professional. But it had nice shots of details of the car--a nice personal touch that made me feel closer to Harris and what he likes about cars.
@DriveBreakFixRepeat12 жыл бұрын
In the beginning of his commentary, Chris said "Welcome to my home movie of the McLaren 12C Spyder." Note the words "home movie", which likely means he only had a short amount of time with car and filmed the more pedestrian shots with his phone camera or something compact like that, saving time for the Drive Crew to work the larger track shots.

Awesome review and great commentary, unfortunately the camera work wasn't of the highest standard, BUT it was one of Chris's first if not thee first 'home video' where he does it himself, meaning that with time his camera work will only get better. Looking forward to the next one. :)

If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing well. Drive is built on an extremely solid foundation of "Chris Harris on cars" content. Look at the view count versus the other shows and you will see how popular this series is. Popular due to the quality of subject matter, presenting, editing - in short everything is finished to a very high standard. Unfortunately when you set such a high standard each subsequent piece of work becomes a potential banana skin. I've no doubt they will return to form.

I'd like to see the roof panel and buttresses in contrasting bare carbon or gloss black. It may reduce the slightly awkward looking front three quarters view.
@quackman12 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't even see why they'd offer the coupe anymore, to be honest. It performs exactly the same, looks almost the same... and I LOVE that you can put the rear window down even with the roof up. I almost always would take a proper coupe over a convertible, but since there are NO downsides to this version apart from an insignificant increase in pounds, then I'd definitely get this convertible.

Well not quite because you see I`ve heard or read that that MP4-12C that 5th Gear tested was the initial version which `s been tuned since (increased HP among other things from 600 to 625)and is therefore better that it was before. Is it now better than the 458 Italia in 5th Gear`s eyes? Well they should have another go to find out. But if that were the case just wait for upgraded, more brutal 458 version which should come out eventually. But 1 thing the 458 does better than Mclaren is noise! :)

@spuddd1234512 жыл бұрын
Yes, it wasn't upto Drive and Harris's usually excellent videos, but the spoken content was just as good. I suspect Chris did all the filming himself and then narrated it after, as the video looks slightly hand hold shaky. Still, enjoyed this very much.

I have owned several convertibles in my life. My 1st was a 79 Triumph Spitfire and latest was an Audi RS4 cabrio. My daily driver is an E28 M5. So...what type of car do most sports cars like Ferrari and Maclaren try to emulate? What type of car do they link their production cars to for all their super fast abilities? An F1 racing car that's what! Now, how many F1 cars do you know have a roof? NONE. They are all "spyders" so why do so many enthusiast despise convertibles?
@mrnicktoyou12 жыл бұрын
There is way too much coverage in the media for this car. Every few weeks there is a video about the 12c. I know it's the convertible but it's the same thing apparently.
