Very very cool sir. Good video too. I've never even heard of these things, but I'm glad you made a video about it. And I never knew anybody used the Maytag engine for anything other than the Maytag washers really inventive

I will never forget my Navy Boot Camp ' 5 - 1 Day ' . Anyone in the Navy knows the ' Maytag Washing Machine ' drill. It's an upside down bicycle leg exercise mash up with a " Boo I'm a Catch Edge Ghost " recovery,,,the whole exercise is done under a bed sheet, when the CO says " Recover ", you immediately had to recover, lift the sheet smartly, and shout, " Boo ! - I'm a Catch Edge Ghost ! " , then drop down on the floor after the CO said " Continue ! " - then you drop down on your back as quick as you can upside down bicycling shouting repititiously " I am a Maytag Washing Machine ! - " I work all day and I work all night " ! -

Never saw this or knew that they ever made this configuration, I like the name though: "Mclean" goes along well with a washing machine engine. Thumbs up!

@Cletrac thats a good question. maybe someone will shed some light on that for you. it looks like it could be a good excersize machine just keeping up with it as it scoots along lol. i like it. its neat seeing maytags working like that. you ought to put a pipe on the exaust so it blows smoke rings as you use it. hey can you show what you did with the magnets sometime?
@The-Junkologist12 жыл бұрын
@1944johndeerel I'll go out right now and make a little video and show where I placed the magnet.

Ha ha...you certainly got a work out with that machine. How is it to turn, or does it have ratcheting pawls like in a David Bradley?
@The-Junkologist12 жыл бұрын
@1944johndeerel I'm still not sure about the speed yet, but I can't see Mclean changing every pulley out on every engine for a smaller one when they came with a pulley in the first place. I would think they would design the rest of the tractor around it. I think if you were cultivating, the speed would not be that bad and you would finish that much faster.

I like this a lot, those maytags are actually pretty powerful for the size but you never really see them used in an application where you notice, theyre always just turning something. How do you engage/disengage the drive belt?

Pulley ratio makes it too fast. May need to put a tiny pulley on the engine or add a shaft with large pulley belted to engine pulley and small pulley belted to tiller pulley. I think it would stall if you tried to till in hard unbroken ground at this speed.
