Usyk is really a superb fighter. One of the best in the last generation. He's the next to become two times undisputed 🔥

One of the most skillful boxers of this generation (ever?). Hope he has more years in his tank because I love seeing him fight! Would love to see more breakdowns like this and more videos with "partner drills" so I can steal some ideas for my gym ;) great upload, thanks coach!

Say what they will. I don’t think ANY heavyweight is keen to fight Usyk. He’s a problem. He’s got a great motor. He’ll give Fury fits physically and Fury won’t be able to play psychological games with him because Usyk has a great headspace and he’s tough and super fit as well. You gotta love a man that fights for glory.

@ahaider78712 жыл бұрын
There’s a reason for that, keep up with me on this one I will try to explain it the best I can. Firstly in the first three rounds Usyk is just on a scouting mission and does not throw any power shots, his main goal is just to find his rhythm and timing. From rounds 4 onwards he never puts above 70-80% power in most of his punches to keep his balance and reflexes on point. He does this so he’s more agile on his feet and also helps him conserve his energy. The main reason Usyks opponents deplete in energy is because they throw every shot with 90-100% power and never find their own rhythm. Rhythm is key because when you have your own timing and flow your body uses less energy and is more efficient. Usyk then uses his faints movement and combinations to tire the opponent out. The best way to describe this is if you drive a car for a long time you get tired, not physically but mentally and this is what Usyk is successful at doing even with the fittest of athletes. Rhythm, Use of Faints, Movement and Energy efficiency is why Usyk is able to last 12 rounds without a problem.

Loma and Usyk are from the same boxing background, and both of them often wear shoes that resemble more of a running/sprinting shoe type, with free ankles, then usual boxing high shoes which date back from over a hundread years ago. And the two have basically the same footwork. Some high tech historians in the Ukranian team.

Usyk should know that next time Joshua will have a straight right or right uppercut answer for the inside jab. I don't want Usyk to lose the rematch.
@philipvjones3973 жыл бұрын
tbh, at that level he should have been able to work it out in real time. I think the only way he beats him is just to jump on him from the start and go for broke. His career's over anyway if he loses again so he should just do a Nigel Benn and have a tear up.
@clm38883 жыл бұрын
@@philipvjones397 And he doesn't connect on Usyk, he will get tired. People who say he should do that doesn't think about him missing Usyk. They don't think about his cardio.
@philipvjones3973 жыл бұрын
@@clm3888 He's already tried boxing him from the outside - he'll just lose again if he does that. He's 20 lbs heavier, he should be leaning on him and roughing him up. Boxing is calculated risk.
@ritzkola23023 жыл бұрын
@@philipvjones397 TBH even in football, the NFL, there are some QBs who need the coaches to give them plays and audibles. Then there are QBs like Tom Brady who can calculate and adjust on the fly. Boxing’s equivalent to Brady would be Floyd. (Floyd does it even better than Brady seeing as Boxing doesn’t have the multiple resets between plays that Football has). Two respective 🐐 in their sports. Every athlete isn’t them, and AJ certainly isn’t. He’s the former, he needs extensive preparation and time with coaches to adjust. He can’t do it on the fly. He can’t even do it between multiple rounds. He’s a rematch fighter who improves during camp. Which is why he shouldn’t have been trying to outbox Usyk to begin with. He could’ve set Usyk up via Boxing, for big punches, but he didn’t try to.
