You can see by a lot of the comments in this thread that people either aren't actually listening to what he says or are commenting before watching the video or they think he's an idiot. I always told my customers that I would do it correctly quickly or cheaply but never all three. this means that there's always different levels of workmanship that can be done correctly depending on the application and the budget.

What I really appreciate about all of that Al's videos is that you never hear him tell you how it has to be done - just how he finds that it works best for a certain circumstance with a certain customer. It takes somebody for the tremendous amount of experience to speak this way because most people are just getting started or think they're freaking awesome tend to think that there's a single solution to a problem. I clearly enjoy watching the videos and love the personalities but I think my favorite parts of the video as always when Al takes a few minutes to talk to the camera and school the internet's on something that is woefully lacking in most cases which is just common sense. Next time you are in the states the lemon squash are on me :-)

Al's quite succinct and to the point when he's got a bee in his bonnet, like with those brake lines. That really set the tone for the rest of the video; it was all clear, no-nonsense, good advice, do-this-and-don't-do-what-I-did, etc. Hats off, that was well presented

Al is ‘that guy’ everyone that has worked long enough has worked with; great mechanic, not fancy just gets shit done, isn’t an ass or abusive to the apprentices but will flip you shit with the best, obviously loves the work and the project just moves along like it’s on greased rails...great watching him work and a good lesson in productivity while still having fun.

It’s a total crack up watching y’all work on this old American nova, I have a Chevy II as well and I know exactly what issues you’re running into, my fender wells are removed and replaced with tubular support bars, it makes getting a v8 in and out of the car much easier
@sireuchre
@sireuchre 5 жыл бұрын
I had 'headers' that did fit, right out of the box. Edelbrock made what they called 'TES' (Tubular Exhaust Systems), which were a bolt in to replace the stock manifolds and in single outlet setups, the Y pipe to the catalyst. My set was in an Astro van with a 4.3L V6. Worked great. In that particular year, GM had used a tubular steel manifold on one side, and a cast iron log on the other, so when my cast manifold cracked in half, I swapped in the headers. Sounded better, made more torque and probably a touch more HP, and better throttle response.
